We are pleased to announce that seven products won awards in five categories at the Asia Beer Championship 2023, where the award ceremony was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Friday, October 20, 2023.
The Asia Beer Championship is an international beer competition in which breweries from all over Asia, from Jordan to Japan, participate. Divided into 32 categories, Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded in each category. The brewery with the most medals from each country is awarded the " Country Champion" title, while the highest-quality beer that meets the required standards is awarded the "Chairman's Selection." This year, tastings were held in Singapore on September 30th and October 1st, with the results announced at a ceremony held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on October 20th.
This year, seven of our products won awards in five categories. Among them, "Hop Frontier -Juicy IPA-," which has become a staple since 2021, won the Gold Award in the New England/Hazy IPA category and the "Champion IPA of ASIA" award.
Additionally, "Off Trail Kriek in the Barrel 2023" won its third gold award in the Wild Beer category. "Off Trail" products also won silver and bronze awards in the same category. This is the first time in the history of the Asia Beer Championship that a brewery has won all awards in one category. As a result, Far Yeast Brewing was selected as the prestigious " Country Champion of Japan ."
We are extremely honored to have won the Champion title in the IPA category, which has the most entries in this competition, and for our unique and challenging brand, "Off Trail," to achieve this feat, which is the first time in the six years since Genryu Brewery began operations.We are also extremely honored that our beer has been recognized for its taste and quality, along with winning awards in other categories.
We will continue to strive to increase our presence not only in Japan but also in the booming craft beer scene in Asia.

New England / Hazy IPA category: Gold Award and Champion IPA of ASIA 『Far Yeast Hop Frontier -Juicy IPA- 』
This is our flagship product, pioneering the latest hop theory and cutting-edge brewing techniques in Japan, pushing the boundaries of the trendy Juicy IPA style. A scientific approach maximizes the aromatic compounds of hops, resulting in a Juicy IPA bursting with fruity, tropical aromas. Focusing on "survivables," compounds that contribute to the aroma in the finished beer and remain intact throughout the brewing process, we delve deeply into the use of hops, focusing on a methodology for effectively extracting aromas on the hot side and "biotransformation," the creation of new aromatic compounds through the interaction of hop compounds with yeast.

『Off Trail Kreik in the Barrel 2023 』
This marks our fourth collaboration with Portland brewery Culmination Brewing. Our previous three beers have all received high praise at numerous international competitions, including this one, and are garnering worldwide attention. The main beer is a red ale that has undergone lactic acid fermentation via kettle souring, added Brettanomyces yeast, and aged for 12 months in oak barrels, blended with a sour porter that has been aged for 22 months in red wine barrels. This barrel-aged sour ale features a deep, complex base beer with cherry infusion.

『Off Trail Mended with Spice 』
This unique Off Trail product combines chai spice and chocolate porter. The base beer is made from four distinctive barrels of Imperial Porter and one barrel of Salted Caramel Chocolate Porter, and the complex base beer is joined together with chai spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cacao nibs, like a traditional Japanese brocade.

" Off Trail Upstream "
This barrel-aged sour blonde ale is infused with three dried flowers: jasmine, red clover, and meadowsweet, imparting a floral, pleasant aroma and flavor. The base is a sour blonde ale and strong ale, aged for up to 21 months in oak barrels. Located across Lake Okutama, our company in Yamanashi Prefecture brews beer using the same water source, and this is a collaborative product between VERTERE in Okutama, Tokyo.

This is the flagship of Far Yeast's classic "Tokyo Series." It is a high-quality product that can be enjoyed by craft beer novices and hardcore fans alike. It has a dry, sharp finish. You can enjoy the fruity ester aroma and vibrant hop aroma.
American IPA ( ABV over 5.5%) : Chairman's Selection
『Far Yeast Trigger Chapter.2 』
While we've specialized in Belgian-style brews since our founding, we've taken on the classic American style with this second release in our West Coast IPA series, "Trigger." Focusing on Oceanian hops, we use Wakatu and Galaxy on both the hot and cold sides to add citrus and floral flavors. The complex, intense aroma, clean flavor, and punchy, intense bitterness will strike a chord with drinkers.
This product is designed with logistics in mind to ensure it is delivered in fully refrigerated condition, as well as a label design that makes you want to pick it up.

『 Far Yeast Hazelnut Explosion 』
This product was created in collaboration with Baerlic Brewing, a brewery in Portland, Oregon, for "HOOD TO FUJI 2023." This red ale features the sweetness of malt and a caramel-like flavor and aroma, and is overflowing with the fragrant aroma of Oregon hazelnuts and caramel flavor.
