[News Release] Tokyo-themed craft beer "Far Yeast" launches "Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde - Export," a line for overseas exports

In April 2015, Japan Craft Beer Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada) will launch a new line of its Tokyo-themed craft beer brand, Far Yeast, for export: Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde - Export.
Far Yeast was created based on the concept of "a beer that symbolizes Tokyo, a city that evolves every day while blending tradition and cutting edge technology," and has continued to sell well domestically since its launch in April 2014. Japan Craft Beer currently sells its flagship brand, Kagua, in nine countries overseas, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, and Thailand, and the decision to launch an export line was made in response to requests from business partners in each country.
Currently available in Japan, Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde and Far Yeast Tokyo White have faced challenges when exporting due to the need for refrigerated storage and limited shelf life. This export version has overcome these issues while retaining the appeal of Far Yeast. Brewing of Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde - Export will be outsourced to Kiuchi Sake Brewery LLC, the manufacturer of Hitachino Nest, a pioneer of Japanese craft beer in overseas markets. We will begin with an export version of Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde, and will consider export versions of Far Yeast Tokyo White and other beers in the future.
One of the features of "Far Yeast" is that the recipe is adjusted with each brew, evolving the flavor. The export version is brewed using an export recipe that combines the best aspects of previous recipes. Sales will begin in Asian countries such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea, with plans to gradually increase export destinations. Sales are also planned in restaurants and retail stores in Japan.
Nippon Craft Beer Co., Ltd. will continue to promote Japanese craft beer overseas, striving to provide high-quality value and the diversity and richness of beer to more customers.

Far Yeast was established in April 2014 with the aim of creating a beer that would convey the appeal of Tokyo, a city that Japan can be proud of, to the world. It is Japan Craft Beer Co., Ltd.'s second brand, following Kagua.
Based on the theme of "Tokyo," a vibrant city that blends tradition with cutting-edge technology and evolves every day, the beer is brewed at a domestic contract brewery using an original recipe (mixture).
We currently offer two types of beer as standard in our line: the pilsner-type "Tokyo Blonde" and the saison-type "Tokyo White."
