【News Release】東京をテーマにした新ビール 「Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde」を首都圏限定発売

[News Release] New Tokyo-themed beer "Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde" released exclusively in the Tokyo metropolitan area

Nippon Craft Beer Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada), the company behind the Japanese-flavored ale "KAGUA," will be releasing the first product of its new "Tokyo"-themed brand, "Far Yeast Tokyo Blonde," exclusively in the Tokyo metropolitan area on April 13, 2014. Far Yeast was born from the concept of creating a beer that symbolizes Tokyo, a city that evolves every day while blending tradition and cutting edge technology. Its characteristics are as follows:

  • A unique recipe combining two types of aroma hops, "Nelson Sauvin" and "New Zealand Saaz", gives this beer a sophisticated aroma and a vibrant taste.
  • By delivering the beer at a temperature controlled state without any heat treatment, you can enjoy the original appeal of raw beer and its lively, lively feel.
  • By adjusting the recipe for each brew, the flavor changes and evolves. You can enjoy the difference in flavor between each batch.
Following on from "KAGUA," the bottle design was created by Akiyoshi Miyazaki, an architect who graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Miyazaki explained his thoughts behind the design, saying, "Designing Far Yeast meant thinking about what kind of beer would be appropriate for people living in Tokyo. From the perspective of Western Europe, where beer originated, Tokyo is a city that could be considered the Far East or a remote part of the world, so I aimed to create a beer that would serve as the seed for building a beer culture that would surprise them. I hope that this beer will symbolize the people who live and work in Tokyo." For Japanese craft beer, the company plans to release two types of beer under the "Far Yeast" brand: a pilsner-type "Tokyo Blonde" and a white ale-type "Tokyo White." Following the release of "Tokyo Blonde" on April 13, "Tokyo White" is scheduled to be released in late May. -On the occasion of the release, Shiro Yamada, Representative of Japanese Craft Beer- "With the 2020 Olympics approaching, Tokyo will transform into an even more exciting city. With this opportunity right in front of us, as a Tokyo-based craft beer company, we wanted to create a Tokyo-themed beer. We want to create a beer that will convey to the world the charm of this wonderful city, Tokyo, which we can be proud of."
