Far Yeast Brewing will be brewing a limited edition product, "Far Yeast 1000 Steps," to commemorate the 1000th brew at their brewery , and will begin selling it on Tuesday , March 19th.

Celebrating the 1000th brew, the brewery returns to its roots
Founded in Shibuya, Tokyo, our company started out by contract brewing and selling "KAGUA," and opened our own brewery, Genryu Brewery, in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, in May 2017. We have now celebrated our 1,000th brew since our first brew, "Far Yeast TAPECUT." Over the past seven years, the number of emerging breweries in Japan has increased, each releasing their own unique and appealing products that have captured the hearts of beer fans.
As we approach the milestone of our 1000th brew, we have reflected on our values ​​and strengths as a brewery and thought about what kind of beer we should brew.
Founded with the traditional Belgian-style KAGUA, when we first began brewing at our own brewery, the concept we set was "Belgo = Japanese." We have returned to our original concept of challenging ourselves with cutting-edge techniques and styles based on the free-spirited thinking of Belgian beer, and have now decided to take on the traditional Belgian style head-on.

■A high-alcohol special beer that makes the most of the characteristics of our brewery "1000 Steps" is a traditional high-alcohol beer that has never been brewed at Genryu Brewery before, making the most of Far Yeast Brewing's biggest feature, "secondary fermentation in a container," and the Belgian yeast used in their standard product, "Far Yeast Tokyo IPA." Using 2.5 times the amount of malt than usual and boiling for a long period of 7 hours, we created a high-alcohol, dry beer that captures the estery characteristics of Belgian yeast. Enjoy the flavor changes with temperature as you sip it over time. The in-bottle secondary fermentation process not only provides a delicate mouthfeel, but also reduces dissolved oxygen (DO) in the container, making it resistant to deterioration and suitable for the long-term aging process unique to Belgian beers. Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery will continue to deliver a variety of fascinating flavors to all beer lovers, building on the brewing methods and techniques it has cultivated over the years, and taking the next step in its quest to explore a variety of styles.

"Far Yeast 1000 Steps" will be available for purchase in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, March 19th. Shipments to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide will begin on Thursday, March 21st, and shipments of purchases made on the official web store will begin sequentially from Wednesday, March 27th.
