しっかりと甘い重厚なバーボン樽熟成 バーレイワインスタイルビール 『Off Trail OBEDIENCE』2月27日(火)限定発売

"Off Trail Obedience," a rich, sweet, and robust bourbon-barrel-aged barleywine-style beer, will be available for a limited time only on Tuesday, February 27th.

Off Trail, a brand that challenges itself with innovative beer brewing, will be selling a limited edition barleywine aged in bourbon barrels, Off Trail OBEDIENCE , from Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

A barleywine that is boiled for a total of 10 hours and aged in barrels for 8 months. Off Trail is a brand that is challenging new possibilities for craft beer, and they use microorganisms other than beer yeast to create unique beers with rich and complex flavors using a barrel-aging method that involves aging the beer in wooden barrels. The finished product changes depending on the barrel and the environment in which it is aged, so no two beers are exactly alike, making for a unique, one-of-a-kind flavor.

"Off Trail Obedience" is a rich, heavy barleywine-style beer that pairs with "Off Trail Betrayal," a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout released in January of this year. Barleywine, which means "wine of barley," is a beer style that originated in 19th century England and is high in alcohol and has a satisfying, wine-like flavor.
Leveraging the experience gained from "BETRAYAL," the brewing process has been further refined this time. Following the first brewing (wort filtering) process, the wort (wort) still retaining a sufficient amount of sugar is used as the mash water for the second mashing, using a technique known as "Polygail," which recovers even more sugar. The base beer, which undergoes two mashings and an extremely long boiling time of 10 hours in total, is then aged in bourbon barrels for eight months. The result is a sweet, rich barleywine.

■ Sweetness like caramel and vanilla with a heavy whiskey-like finish
When you take a sip of the vibrant garnet-red, viscous liquid, sweet, mellow flavors of caramel and vanilla spread, eventually culminating in a heavy, whiskey-like finish.
OBEDIENCE means "submission." It has a very mellow and pleasant mouthfeel, but when you swallow it, the alcohol burns deep in your stomach like rage against oppression, making it an extremely heavy and crazy beer.

"Off Trail OBEDIENCE" will be available for purchase in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, February 27th. Purchases on the official web store and shipments to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide will begin sequentially from Wednesday, February 28th .

[What is Off Trail?]
Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer. Its name evokes the image of venturing off the paved road and forging ahead on unpaved paths. By using the barrel-aging method, which involves aging beer in barrels previously used for wine, sake, and whiskey, Off Trail strives to brew beer that utilizes microorganisms other than brewer's yeast. Barrel-aged base beers develop a strong character due to the environment inside the barrel, and natural chemical reactions create rich, complex aromas. By blending seasonal fruits like grapes and peaches and regional specialties to match the characteristics of the base beer, Off Trail strives to create unique flavors.
