Far Yeast Brewing will be holding its first sustainable tourism event, a "Brewery Tour & Game Pairing Tour," on Saturday, October 21, 2023, as part of its efforts to foster the environment, culture, and economy of Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, where its headquarters are located, and the surrounding area.

■ A first attempt at sustainable tourism
It has been three years since we relocated our headquarters from Shibuya, Tokyo to Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, where our brewery is located, in October 2020.
Through our ongoing efforts to coexist and co-create with the local community, such as the "Yamanashi Support Project," which brews beer using Yamanashi products, and our ongoing plans for a new factory, we are becoming a brewery that is firmly rooted in Yamanashi in both name and reality. However, due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have not been able to create a forum where we can directly communicate with customers about the brewery's challenges and changes.
So this time, we have planned a special tour to welcome you to Kosuge Village, our production base, and give you the opportunity to experience the unique natural beauty of this region through beer.

■ Sustainable tourism that connects you with the local community and food culture through beer
On the day, our brewers and other staff will invite you to the brewery, which is not normally open to the public, and will provide information about our activities and initiatives with the local community, as well as a beer tasting lecture.
Afterwards, you'll travel to the neighboring village of Tanbayama, where you'll enjoy a lunch course paired with local ingredients at a cafe in a renovated old house. In collaboration with the barrel-aged beer brand "Off Trail," the course will feature six dishes incorporating the region's unique local food culture, including venison from "Tabajibier," a hunting culture preserved in Tanbayama, and seasonal log-grown maitake mushrooms. Each dish will be paired with a beer from Far Yeast Brewing , carefully selected by the brewer. Enjoy the pairings while drinking as much beer as you like until the various barrels are empty.
In addition, we will be offering walks around the village, which is rich in nature, and an optional after-party with the brewers, all of which are aimed at helping you connect with the local area and its food culture.

While maintaining a global perspective, which is also our corporate vision of "distributing original Japanese beer to the world," we will continue to contribute to the local community and work towards coexistence with the local community in order to realize sustainable activities at our production base, Genryu Brewery.
