"Far Yeast Peach on the Beach," made with freshly harvested peaches from Peach Senka Yamashita, a peach farmer in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture , will be available for sale in limited quantities from Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Peach beer is popular among craft beer fans. Far Yeast Brewing, based in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan's top peach-producing region, releases "Far Yeast Peach Haze" every year as a summer seasonal staple, using peaches from Yamanashi City's peach farm, Peach Senka Yamashita. It's a popular product that sells out immediately every time, but this year they're experimenting with a new style that further pursues "peach-ness." Following the release of the California Common-style "Far Yeast Momo Common" in March, this time they've created a summery sour ale using juicy, freshly picked peaches.
"Far Yeast Peach on the Beach" is a fruit sour ale made with 500kg of early-ripening "Natsuki" peaches harvested in early July by Yamanashi City's peach farm, "Peach Senka Yamashita." From Yamanashi Prefecture, a landlocked prefecture, we bring you a sweet and sour flavor accented with lime and salt that evokes summer beach vibes .
The label design was created by illustrator Naoko Kamiyama, who lives in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture.
" Far Yeast Peach on the Beach " will be available for purchase in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, August 22nd. Orders made on the web store will be shipped on Monday, August 28th, and will be available to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide from Friday, August 25th. [About Peach Senka Yamashita]
At Yamashita Peach Specialty, we aim to produce crops that can withstand the elements, using farming methods that are kind to both the fruit and the earth, without damaging the soil. We use "grass cultivation," which involves laborious weeding and returning the grass to the soil to strengthen it. We also minimize the use of chemically synthesized products, instead using naturally occurring minerals to create strong soil that is resistant to disease. We harness the power of nature to maximize the fruit's inherent flavor. Furthermore, by planning our plantings to maximize production over as long a period as possible, taking into account the flavor characteristics and growing season of each variety, we are able to deliver a wide range of delicious flavors, from those eaten raw to processed products.
