Far Yeast 2B Continued, a lager beer made using the in-can secondary fermentation method, will go on sale on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

■Far Yeast Brewing's signature lager style

The beers brewed by Far Yeast Brewing are primarily ale-style beers based on the "Belgo-Japanese" style, but with the mission of "restoring diversity in beer," they are challenging themselves with a variety of styles and brewing techniques.

To date, lager styles brewed at Genryu Brewery include "WEST BOUND 4th/5th India Pale Lager," "Paykar Sour IPL" in collaboration with Kubota Kotan Brewery, and "ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner," a collaboration with Thai distributor Beervana, which was released in May of this year. "ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner" is the brewery's first attempt at a lager brewed using secondary fermentation in a container, allowing for long-term storage for export to Thailand.

The newly released "Far Yeast 2B Continued" is a beer that uses a secondary in-vessel fermentation method to attempt the "Far Yeast Brewing signature lager style."

■A canned secondary fermentation lager that is an arrangement of the classic German Pilsner

Most of our products are brewed using the traditional in-bottle secondary fermentation method, which is popular in Belgium and Germany. After primary fermentation, beer is once again fermented with yeast and a small amount of sugar before being filled into cans or kegs, promoting secondary fermentation in the container. This produces a soft carbonation and rich flavor that is different from beers that have been artificially carbonated (the process of adding carbon dioxide to the liquid). In addition, because the oxygen remaining in the container is consumed during the fermentation process, the risk of beer deterioration due to oxidation is significantly reduced, allowing for quality to be maintained for a long period of time. Customers can also sense the changes in flavor that occur as the beer ages, and we recommend this as a way to enjoy our products.

"Far Yeast 2B Continued" is a lager beer that combines a classic German pilsner with American hops, primarily Lórien, and undergoes secondary fermentation in a bottle. With a gentle spicy, floral, and citrus hop aroma, it can be enjoyed not only with food but also on its own.

The product name "2B Continued (To be continued)" embodies our expectations for a beer that will continue to evolve through secondary fermentation.

"Far Yeast 2B Continued " will be available for purchase in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, June 6th. Purchases made on the web store will be shipped sequentially from Wednesday, June 7th to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide.
