"Far Yeast Peach Haze," made with peaches from Peach Senka Yamashita, a peach farmer in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture, will be available for purchase on our online store from Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
■In response to demand, production has increased by 1.5 times compared to last year
"Far Yeast Peach Haze" is a hazy-style fruit pale ale made with plenty of peaches from "Peach Senka Yamashita," a peach farmer in Yamanashi City.
It was launched in July 2020 as the first product of the "Yamanashi Support Project," which collaborates with local Yamanashi producers to promote the charms of Yamanashi through beer. Since then, it has been brewed and sold every year, and is a popular product that always sells out immediately. As a brewery in Yamanashi, a major peach producing region, it aims to continue delivering delicious peach-based products to fans, and has positioned it as a spring/summer staple since 2022.
This year marks the fourth year of the project and, due to its popularity, we are aiming to produce 1.5 times the amount of last year's product so that it can be enjoyed throughout the summer.
■ Use Yamashita Peach Puree
Until last year, we transported fresh peaches to the brewery and processed them with all our staff, but there was a limit to the amount we could process, and the supply could not keep up with demand. Therefore, from this year onwards, we will be using peaches pureed at "Peach Senka Yamashita" in an effort to increase production.
Peach Senka Yamashita has long been focusing on efforts to utilize peaches that it processes in-house for juice, gelato, gift items, etc. By using puree, it will be possible to support this sixth-sector industrialization and increase production, achieving a win-win situation for producers, customers, and our company.
For the first batch, 1,000 kg of peach puree was used to brew 6,000 liters of "Peach Haze." The second and third batches are scheduled to go on sale in June and July.
■ Fresh peach pale ale available only in spring and summer
This Peach Haze uses two types of hops: Luminosa and Mosaic. Luminosa is a new hop that was introduced to Japan in 2023, and is a tropical aroma hop with notes of peach, mango, and sweet citrus. Along with Mosaic, which enhances the sweet fruit aroma, it further complements the peach flavor.
This fresh fruit pale ale, available only at this time of year, offers the natural aroma of peach, citrus and tropical flavors from the hops, and a juicy, smooth mouthfeel.
Far Yeast Peach Haze will be available for purchase on the Far Yeast Brewing online store from Tuesday, May 23rd, and will then be available in limited quantities at liquor stores and restaurants nationwide.
From mid-June, the fruit will also be served at La Pesca, a peach farm cafe run on the premises of Peach Senka Yamashita.
The Yamanashi Support Project will continue to collaborate with producers and businesses in the prefecture to deliver beer made with a variety of produce, thereby helping to promote the local Yamanashi region.

[About Peach Senka Yamashita]
At Yamashita Peach Specialty, we aim to produce crops that can withstand the elements, using farming methods that are kind to both the fruit and the earth, without damaging the soil. We use "grass cultivation," which involves laborious weeding and returning the grass to the soil to strengthen it. We also minimize the use of chemically synthesized products, instead using naturally occurring minerals to create strong soil that is resistant to disease. We harness the power of nature to maximize the fruit's inherent flavor. Furthermore, by planning our plantings to maximize production over as long a period as possible, taking into account the flavor characteristics and growing season of each variety, we are able to deliver a wide range of delicious flavors, from those eaten raw to processed products.
