Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture; CEO: Shiro Yamada) has collaborated with Portland, Oregon brewery Baerlic Brewing to release "Far Yeast Hazelnuts Explosion," a red ale with an explosive flavor of Oregon's famous hazelnuts, starting Wednesday, April 19, 2023.
■Made with over 100kg of Oregon hazelnuts
Portland, Oregon, USA, is home to a plethora of craft beer breweries. We teamed up with Baerlic Brewing, which is highly popular among both beer fans and brewers, to create a beer that is explosively flavorful with hazelnuts, a specialty of Oregon .
This brew uses over 100kg of Oregon hazelnuts. The aroma of roasted nuts is combined with the sweetness of malt and the caramel-like, fragrant flavor of red ale. To further enhance the hazelnut flavor, we selected hops with orange and coconut aromas, as well as spicy notes, which complement the hazelnut flavor. This red ale explodes in your mouth with the aroma of hazelnuts and caramel.
■Pre-opening at the beer festival "HOOD TO FUJI 2023"
Prior to its general release, "Far Yeast Hazelnuts Explosion" will be sold at "HOOD TO FUJI 2023," a Japan-Portland collaborative beer festival to be held in Shibuya from Saturday, April 15th to Sunday, April 16th.
The Far Yeast Brewing online store will begin accepting orders on Tuesday, April 11th, with shipments starting Wednesday, April 19th.

This beer festival will be held in Shibuya over two days, on Saturday, April 15th and Sunday, April 16th, 2023, and will feature collaboration beers from 20 popular beer and cider makers from Japan and Portland, Oregon. The festival aims to promote exchanges between breweries in Oregon, home to Portland, a city with a thriving craft beer culture, and Japanese breweries, and to introduce each other's cultures through craft beer. Combining American and Japanese ideas, Japanese breweries will be brewing recipes using carefully selected Oregon ingredients and ingredients, which will be unveiled at the event.
