Far Yeast Brewing has decided to brew and sell "Far Yeast Peach Haze" every year as a spring/summer seasonal staple, using peaches from Peach Senka Yamashita, a peach farm in Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This year's release is scheduled for Wednesday, June 1st, and preparation has now begun.
■Pre-orders for the past two drinks have sold out, and the popular "Peach Haze" has been decided as a staple product every spring and summer. "Peach Haze," made with peaches from "Peach Senka Yamashita," was first brewed in July 2020. With the number of tourists declining due to the impact of COVID-19, the brewery collaborated with local producers in Yamanashi, where the brewery is located, to promote the charms of Yamanashi along with the beer. It was released in limited quantities as the first product of the "Yamanashi Support Project," and immediately sold out at the pre-order stage, causing a stir.
Due to its popularity, the beer was brewed again last year in 2021. Thanks to the introduction of a juicer that can extract the juice more efficiently, the beer was brewed using approximately 1,000 kg of peaches, double the amount of the previous year, but it still sold out.
This year, the third year of the product, sales have already been decided and brewing has now begun. Going forward, Peach Haze will be positioned as a seasonal staple for spring and summer, and we aim to brew it every year so that it will become a regular product.
We are also planning to launch a new product using freshly picked peaches in August this year. We are strengthening our production system to meet demand and are making preparations to deliver our products to many peach beer fans.
■ Utilizing the peaches of Yamashita Peach Specialty
"Peach Haze" is a hazy-style fruit pale ale made with plenty of peaches from Peach Senka Yamashita, a peach farmer in Yamanashi City. It utilizes rejected peaches that cannot be sold on the general market due to cosmetic issues. Peach Senka Yamashita is also focusing on sixth-sector industrialization, processing rejected peaches into juice and gelato for sale. This time, 1,000 kg of peaches harvested in 2021 and frozen for processing will be used to brew 6,000 liters of "Peach Haze."
The newly brewed "Peach Haze" is scheduled for general release on Wednesday, June 1st, with orders for wholesalers and liquor stores opening on Monday, April 25th. This year, the completed "Peach Haze" will also be available at "La Pesca," a peach farm cafe run on the premises of "Peach Senka Yamashita," from mid-June.
We will continue to work with producers and businesses in Yamanashi Prefecture to deliver a variety of Made-in-Yamanashi beers.
