イノベーティブな蒸留酒造りに挑むブランド『Off Trail -Azeotrope』より 山梨県産ぶどうをブレンドしたバレル熟成フルーツリキュール 2種を2月1日(火)に限定発売

Off Trail -Azeotrope, a brand taking on the challenge of innovative distilled spirits, will release two limited-edition barrel-aged fruit liqueurs blended with grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture on Tuesday, February 1st.

Far Yeast Brewing will be releasing two limited edition barrel-aged fruit liqueurs blended with grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture from its brand "Off Trail - Azeotrope" (hereinafter "Azeotrope"), which is challenging itself with innovative distilled spirits production, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The new liqueurs are "Off Trail Azeotrope Pineau de Yamanashi Koshu" and "Off Trail Azeotrope Pineau de Yamanashi Muscat Bailey A."

■New liqueur from Azeotrope, a crossover brand of beer and distilled spirits

Launched in October 2021, "Off Trail - Azeotrope" is a crossover brand between beer and distilled spirits that utilizes the fermentation and barrel aging know-how cultivated through beer brewing to create innovative spirits and liqueurs.

This time, we will be releasing two types of fruit liqueurs that are rich in fruit flavor and are made by blending grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture with barrel-aged spirits made from our regular beer "KAGUA," which uses yuzu and sansho pepper.
This is a new style of distilled spirit inspired by Pineau des Charentes, a drink made in the Cognac region of France, which is made by adding Cognac brandy to unfermented grape juice and aging it.

■Aged for 9 months in wine barrels and blended with grapes from Yamanashi Prefecture

"KAGUA" is carefully distilled twice in a pot still at Braeckman Distillery, a Belgian distillery with over 100 years of history, before being shipped to Japan and aged for nine months in French oak barrels used for red wine at Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. Finally, it is blended with grape puree from Yamanashi Prefecture and bottled unfiltered.

Two different liqueurs have been created using Koshu and Muscat Bailey A grapes. Pinot de Yamanashi Koshu, made with Koshu grapes, gently envelops the complex aromas and flavors of wine barrel aging with the freshness of Koshu. Pinot de Yamanashi Muscat Bailey A has the wine-like fruitiness and sweetness of Muscat Bailey A, creating an exquisite balance.
The wine is made to bring out the natural color of each grape variety, and because it is unfiltered, the pulp remains, allowing you to enjoy the natural flavor of the grapes. We recommend mixing it well and enjoying it with soda.

[Off Trail - What is Azeotrope?]

Launched in October 2021 as a craft spirits brand that crosses over beer and distilled spirits, Off Trail is a spin-off brand of the cutting-edge beer brewing project "Off Trail," which utilizes a barrel aging method that utilizes microorganisms, and is challenging itself with innovative spirits, liqueurs, and more.
We aim to bring a breath of fresh air to the world of distilled spirits by utilizing the know-how of fermentation and barrel aging we have cultivated through beer brewing, focusing on genever-style spirits, which are malt-derived distilled spirits that are aged in barrels.

"Azeotrope" refers to the phenomenon of two liquids with different boiling points boiling together while maintaining their composition when mixed in a certain ratio. The name evokes the symbiosis of beer and spirits, our main fields of business.
