Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. will release "Off Trail Cyclocross Mocha IPA ," the 14th release from its innovative beer brand " Off Trail, " on Thursday, July 29th. Pre-orders will begin on the official online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 20th.
Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer. Its name comes from the image of forging ahead on unpaved roads, setting itself apart from well-paved roads. The beer is brewed using the barrel-aging method, whereby beer is aged in barrels previously used for wine, sake, and whiskey, in order to develop rich and complex aromas by utilizing microorganisms other than brewer's yeast. The brand explores unique flavors by blending seasonal fruits such as grapes and peaches, as well as regional specialties, to match the characteristics of the base beer.
The 14th release, " Off Trail Cyclocross Mocha IPA ," is a blend of Tokyo IPA aged in whiskey barrels and strong ale aged in wine barrels. While retaining the citrus aroma of the hops from the base beer, the barrel aging adds maltiness, fruitiness, acidity, woody and rich tannins, and complex aromas like subtle caramel and whiskey.
To add even more depth and balance, we've added a special blend of roasted coffee beans with a strong roasted aroma and sweet cacao nibs from BICYCLE COFFEE TOKYO, a natural roastery based in the San Francisco Bay Area with whom we've collaborated on numerous coffee beers.
It has a smooth and mellow mouthfeel like chocolate, and you can enjoy the aroma and flavor of coffee and chocolate.
" Off Trail Cyclocross Mocha IPA " will be available nationwide from Thursday, July 29th, and pre-orders will begin on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 20th (shipments will begin sequentially from Monday, July 26th).
