うちゅうブルーイングとのコラボレーションビール Off Trail #11 『Event Horizon』 4月24日(土)より発売開始

Collaboration beer with Uchu Brewing, Off Trail #11 "Event Horizon," on sale from Saturday, April 24th

Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. is collaborating with friendly brewery Uchu Brewing, also based in Yamanashi Prefecture, to create the 11th release of its innovative beer brand, "Off Trail." The new release, "Event Horizon," will be available to the public on Saturday, April 24th, with pre-orders starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 20th on its official online store.

Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer. Its name comes from the image of forging ahead on unpaved roads, setting itself apart from well-paved roads. The beer is brewed using the barrel-aging method, in which beer is aged in barrels previously used for wine, sake, and whiskey, in order to develop rich and complex aromas by utilizing microorganisms other than brewer's yeast. The brand explores unique flavors by blending seasonal fruits such as grapes and peaches, as well as regional specialties, to match the characteristics of the base beer.

The 11th release, "Event Horizon," is a long-awaited collaboration with Uchuu Brewing in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, a brewery with which the two have deepened ties. Uchuu Brewing, which specializes in hop-rich IPAs, and Far Yeast Brewing, which has accumulated experience in blending through their "Off Trail" series, teamed up to create a "Dry Hopped Barrel Aged Saison and Sour Blonde Ale with Koshu Grapes."

The Uchu Brewing Team visited Genryu Brewery and tasting conducted a joint selection of barrels for the blend. The blend includes a beer called "Japanese Grape Saison," released in the fall of 2019, aged for 18 months in whiskey barrels, a kettle soured blonde ale, and a Brettanomyces beer aged for 11 months in wine barrels.

In addition, they also attended the blending and dry-hopping process at Genryu Brewery, where we also dry-hopped the three key hop varieties, Citra, Simcoe, and Nelson Sauvin, to finish the beer.

If you like barrel-aged sours and hop-forward beers, we highly recommend Event Horizon. Enjoy its deep, refined flavor.
It takes you on a journey of flavours as you drift through the gravitational field of outer space, culminating in a tranquil finish that feels like you're on the edge of a black hole.

"Event Horizon" will be released nationwide on Saturday, April 24th, and pre-orders will begin on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 20th (shipments will begin sequentially from Thursday, April 22nd).

<About Uchu Brewing>
Uchu Brewing is a microbrewery in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, run by brewmaster Masahiro Kusunoki and creative director Rumiko Suzuki.
Representative Kusunoki discovered craft beer on the west coast of the US in 2016, and was particularly impressed by the hop aroma of IPA. Prior to brewing, he had been organically cultivating crops such as rice as a "space farmer," and in 2016 began cultivating hops. Aiming to be a sustainable brewery that does not put a burden on the environment, he built a DIY brewery in 2017 and began brewing. He continues to brew beer with the belief that "fresh hops are the key."
