The healthy hard seltzer is a big hit in the US! Far Yeast Brewing x Double Haven Brewing's "Dragon Seltzer" will be released on Friday, March 26th.

Far Yeast Brewing , in collaboration with Hong Kong craft beer maker Double Haven Brewing, will be selling a new hard seltzer drink, "Dragon Seltzer," a limited edition product that is currently experiencing a huge boom in the United States, starting Friday, March 26th.
Pre-orders will begin on our online store on Tuesday, March 9th.

Four flavors have been released: Blackraspberry (a type of raspberry), Cucumber Watermelon, Yuko Ginger, and Kuromame Yuzu.All of these flavors are low in sugar and gluten-free, and offer a new sensation of alcoholic beverages with fresh flavors.

■ Low-sugar and gluten-free. A new type of alcoholic beverage: "Hard Seltzer"

Hard seltzer (also known as Spiked Seltzer) is a carbonated alcoholic beverage made by fermenting sugars, and is typically flavored with fruit or other ingredients. In Japan, carbonated alcohol is often associated with chuhai, but chuhai differs from hard seltzer in that it uses distilled spirits such as vodka or shochu.

It began to boom in the United States around 2019, and its popularity has accelerated in 2020. According to market research company Nielsen, sales in the 15 weeks up to mid-June 2020 were four times higher than the same period last year. As its production method is similar to that of beer, major American beer manufacturers are entering the market one after another. It is also being brewed by craft breweries, where it has become increasingly popular.

Hard seltzers are low in sugar, gluten-free, and calories, and are especially popular among health-conscious millennials. They are not too high in alcohol, and while they have a fruity flavor, they are not sweet and have a refreshing, light taste.

Collaborative development between craft beer breweries in Japan and Hong Kong

In Japan, interest in healthy alcoholic beverages is growing, with sales of low-sugar and zero-sugar beer-like beverages increasing due to increased health awareness amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to lose weight due to self-restraint.
We are pleased to announce that we will be collaborating with Double Haven Brewing, a leading Hong Kong craft beer brewery, to sell a hard seltzer in the Japanese market.
In addition to beer, Double Haven Brewing also produces the hard seltzer product "Dragon Water" in Hong Kong, which has been on sale since 2020. This marks Far Yeast Brewing's first hard seltzer.
We sell our own brand of craft beer not only in Japan but also in 23 countries around the world (as of March 2021), and have a track record of producing many collaborative beers with breweries around the world. This is the first time we have teamed up with Double Haven Brewing to jointly develop a hard seltzer product for the Japanese market.

■ "Dragon Seltzer" comes in four flavors

One of the attractions of hard seltzer is the fresh fruit flavors available.
Dragon Seltzer comes in four flavors: Blackraspberry (a type of raspberry), Cucumber Watermelon, Yuko Ginger, and Kuromame Yuzu. Two of these, Yuko Ginger and Kuromame Yuzu, are original flavors developed specifically for the Japanese market using ingredients unique to Japan.
Members of Double Haven Brewing visited Far Yeast Brewing's own brewery in Yamanashi, "Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery," and together they discussed the aromas, flavors, and ratios, and after tasting, the final product was decided.

Blackraspberry

Cucumber Watermelon
