Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shiro Yamada) will release a barrel-aged beer called "Ginspiration" from its new brand "Off Trail" on Thursday, November 14th.
Barrel-aged beer is beer brewed using a technique called "barrel aging," which involves aging the beer in wooden barrels. In addition to the aroma of the wooden barrels used for aging, natural yeast promotes fermentation of the beer, resulting in a complex flavor that cannot be achieved through regular beer brewing. Depending on the combination of barrels and beers used, a variety of flavors can be created, making it highly popular in Europe, the United States, and around the world.
The newly released "Ginspiration" is flavored with juniper berries*, which are also used in gin. The herbal aroma of juniper berries, combined with the citrus peel-like bitterness of the IPA, creates a deep flavor. It pairs well with dishes such as vinegared dishes, salmon, and cheese, making it a great accompaniment to meals.
"Ginspiration" will go on general sale from Thursday, November 14th, and will also be available at directly managed beer bars such as "Far Yeast Tokyo Craft Beer&Bao," located in Shibuya.
Going forward, we will continue to create new value by commercializing various ideas and sharing them with the world so that more customers can enjoy them.
*What are juniper berries? Juniper is a herb made from the dried berries of the coniferous tree Juniper, and is characterized by its herbal aroma, moderate bitterness, and spicy flavor. It is mainly used to flavor gin, as well as to spice sauerkraut and meat dishes.

[About Off Trail]
"Off Trail" is a new brand created as a follow-up to our two major brands, "Far Yeast" and "KAGUA." Based on the theme of challenging ourselves to brew innovative beer, the name comes from the image of "Off Trail," which stands out from the "well-paved road" and forges ahead on an "unpaved road." Now, "Ginspiration" will be released as the first product under the "Off Trail" brand, as we take on the challenge of commercializing our first barrel-aged beer.
