Starting in mid-August 2018, we will be releasing the limited edition "Far Yeast Kriek in the flesh."
"Far Yeast Kriek in the flesh" is a collaboration between Far Yeast Brewing and Culmination Brewing, a brewery in Portland, Oregon, USA. This product is a fruit sour* fermented using the kettle souring method* with the addition of tart cherry juice.
*Kettle souring, also known as "quick souring," is a relatively new method for making sour ales. It generally involves lactic acid fermentation of the wort in a boiling kettle, a brewing device, to give the beer a sour flavor.
It has a vibrant ruby color and a fruity aroma. It's not too sweet, with just the right amount of cherry acidity. The finish is dry. Additionally, a portion of the "Far Yeast Kriek in the flesh" is being aged in red wine barrels, and will be released in limited quantities after aging.~From Tomas, Owner and Head Brewer of Culmination Brewing~
