「Far Yeast Nightcrawler」(ボトル商品)の色度の変化について

Regarding color changes in "Far Yeast Nightcrawler" (bottled product)

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our products.

Regarding the bottled "Far Yeast Nightcrawler" products that went on sale on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, there have been multiple reports of some products having a discoloration compared to when they were filled.
We would like to report the results of our investigation into this matter.

1. Phenomenon

As you pointed out, changes in color were confirmed for bottled products. In our testing, we observed cases where the color darkened by about 6-8 degrees using SRM . Regarding flavor, no noticeable off-flavors were detected . Incidentally, changes in color have only been reported for bottled products; this phenomenon has not been reported or observed for cask products.

2. Discussion

Due to the nature of the NE IPA style, there is more yeast remaining in the bottle than in our regular beers, and due to the nature of this style, there is also more protein and hop content. We believe that this phenomenon is caused by yeast activity over time, which has resulted in a change in color. It may also be linked to proteins or hop components, but we are not yet sure of the relationship.

3. Response

There is no noticeable deterioration in the flavor, so you can drink it with confidence. We will continue to conduct verification after this.

Due to the characteristics of the NE IPA style, the intensity of the hop aroma is expected to diminish over time.
We would appreciate it if you could consume it as soon as possible even if it is within the expiration date.
