■A crossover between beer and distilled spirits! The Azeotrope brand is challenging itself to create innovative spirits and liqueurs, leveraging the fermentation and barrel aging know-how it has cultivated through craft gin beer production that focuses on hop aroma.
This time, we'll focus on hops, the main ingredient in beer! Beer Distilled Gin is made by distilling our own lost beer and using hops as botanicals. Utilizing our knowledge gained through repeated research and challenges into the "extraction of aromatic components" of hops, which is attracting attention in beer brewing, we bring out the aroma of hops using two approaches: extracting the hop flavor contained in the raw beer and extracting the hop aroma added as a botanical. By using a neutral base liquor made by distilling Ross beer twice in a pot still, we were able to bring the hop character to the forefront. The hops are a blend of fresh hops from Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, and American hops. The fresh hops include not only cones, but also a small amount of ivy and leaves to create a grassy feel. We recommend mixing it with soda to bring out the botanical flavor, or adding it to your favorite beer to enhance the aroma.
Brewer's Note: We aimed to improve the quality of our liquor by polishing it more strictly than ever before. Fresh hops include not only cones but also a small amount of ivy and leaves to create a grassy feel. Blended with Idaho 7 American hops, this liquor delivers a citrus and grassy aroma. While utilizing the hop aroma of the Ross beer used as the base liquor, this product pursues the true aroma of botanicals through a variety of approaches.
