San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2024 Gold Award! "Malt Gin Distiller's Choice" is a barrel-aged gin series. The fourth release, "delta," is themed around the unique expression of cask-aged gin. The main raw spirit is "KAGUA," a beer distilled spirit distilled in Belgium, which was aged for 27 months in red wine barrels. The aging process gives it a strong berry character. To bring out this aroma, we removed it from the barrel and let it come into contact with air for a few days to remove any unwanted aromas. We then blended in a small amount of peated gin that had been aged in whiskey barrels for 20 months, bringing out the rich flavor that only barrel aging can provide. In addition, to enhance the appeal of the gin, we have added young raw spirits that contain three times the amount of juniper berries than in our other products. The rich flavor is expressed through the various characteristics of the raw liquor depending on the temperature and the passage of time.
<Distiller's Note> The previous release in the series, "Gamma," was a blend that focused on the balance between botanicals and casks, but this time we focused on the appeal of cask aging and the character of juniper berries to express the appeal of gin as a whole. The blend of a mature spirit and a youthful, fresh spirit that expresses juniper is an expression unique to Cask Aged Gin.
