Ten Far Yeast Brewing products won prizes at the Asia Beer Championship 2021. "Off Trail Kriek in the Barrel" won the gold prize!

The results of the Asia Beer Championship 2021 were announced on Thursday, October 28, 2021, with Far Yeast Brewing's Off Trail Kriek in the Barrel winning the Gold Award in the Wild Ale category.
Additionally, nine products were selected as Chairman's Selections in seven categories, bringing the total to eight categories.
About the Asia Beer Championship
The Asia Beer Championship is an international beer competition in which breweries from all over Asia, from Jordan to Japan, participate. There are 32 categories, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals awarded in each category. High-quality beers that meet the required standards are also selected for the Chairman's Selection.
This year, the tasting took place in Singapore on October 22nd and 23rd, and the results were announced at a ceremony streamed live online on October 28th.

WILD ALE Category: Gold Award “Off Trail Kreik in the Barrel”

This barrel-aged fruit sour ale is made by adding wild yeast to the wort from "KRIEK IN THE FLESH," a collaboration with Portland brewery "Culmination Brewing," and fermenting and aging it in oak barrels for eight months. After a gentle acidity, the vibrant cherry fruit aroma is complemented by the oak barrel aroma and leathery notes that are unique to barrel-aging, resulting in a well-balanced finish.
"Kriek in the Barrel" was previously released in 2019 and won a bronze medal at the Asia Beer Championship. This latest win also makes it a product that has received high praise internationally.

『 Far Yeast WESTBOUND 5th India Pale Lager 』
The only lager style brewed at Genryu Brewery.
Using five types of hops, including Nelson Sauvin and Lemon Drop, this beer prioritizes cleanliness and drinkability over showy hops. At 4.8%, it's slightly lower than typical lager styles, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a crisp, drinkable taste that pairs well with food and can be enjoyed in a wide variety of situations.

"Off Trail Hops and Dreams"
This is a new type of hop aroma product made by dry-hopping a barrel-aged blonde sour ale with the experimental new hop variety "HBC630."
When poured into a glass, it releases a sweet, candy-like ester aroma and the sweet scent of freshly picked peaches and bananas. With one sip, the tropical lychee and apple cider flavors from the base beer burst into your mouth, and the hop aroma reminiscent of raspberries and cherries transports the drinker to a dream world.

This hazy-style fruit pale ale is made with plenty of peaches from Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Using freshly picked peaches, the freshness is enhanced by two types of hops: El Dorado, which has a stone fruit-like aroma, and Mosaic, which has a tropical aroma.
