Far Yeast Brewing new project “Yakiniku & Craft Beer DEN” opens in Atami, Shizuoka on May 11, 2019

Yakiniku & Craft Beer DEN is the 2nd outlets of our flagship taproom & restaurant in the heart of Atami where you can enjoy our craft beers together with highly selected Wagyu beef barbecue and other dishes conjured up by Chikara Tanaka, our experienced chef.

All regular beers from Kagua series which have been sold worldwide around twenty countries and Far Yeast series beers are permanently on tap. Also, It has some seasonal fruits beers, and excellent guest beers as draft too.

Our restaurant’s concept is serving Far Yeast Brewing craft beers and wagyu beef barbecue.
DEN will be the first restaurant bar with the full range of Far Yeast’ draft beers in Shizuoka Prefecture, and our team will serve you the prime wagyu beef called “Ozaki beer” from Miyazaki prefecture.
You can enjoy the full range of craft beers that go well with our barbecue menu.

Far Yeast collaborates with Brouwerij de Prael on ‘Imperial Peach’

TOKYO, Japan –July 23rd, 2018 – Far Yeast Brewing Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / Managing Director: Shiro Yamada) today announced that they will soon launch a limited-release beer ‘Imperial Peach’ brewed in collaboration with Netherland-based Brouwerij de Prael.

Imperial Peach is a wheat ale based on the flagship beer “Tripel” of Brouwerij de Prael, brewed by Belgian traditional recipe. It is a collaboration between Far Yeast Brewing and Brouwerij de Prael, which started exporting to Japan this spring. You can enjoy a refreshing flavor by using peach juice as an arrangement of Far Yeast Brewing.

Far Yeast Brewing has collaborated with several overseas breweries so far, but ‘Imperial Peach’ is the second launched collaboration beer brewed at their own Genryu Brewery in Yamanashi.

“living in an inclusive society” – In 2002 Brouwerij de Prael was founded in Amsterdam Netherlands by Arno Kooy and Fer Kok who were former psychiatric nurse. They established it with a desire to make a social contribution with beer. And they are now actively working on employment of handicapped persons.
It is a traditional production method including flagship product “Tripel”, and besides 6 kinds of standard items, and limited products are brewed. Japan’s first landing in the spring of 2018.

Far Yeast collaborates with Heart of Darkness on ‘Saigon Passion’

TOKYO, Japan –July 11th, 2018 – Far Yeast Brewing Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / Managing Director: Shiro Yamada) today announced that they will soon launch a limited-release beer ‘Saigon Passion’ brewed in collaboration with Vietnam-based Heart of Darkness Brewery.

Saigon Passion is a sour ale in which you can enjoy the fragrance and refreshing acidity of Vietnam’s vibrant passion fruit. It is a collaboration between Far Yeast Brewing and Heart of Darkness, one of the most influential craft breweries in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. The collaboration includes two different editions, one brewed in Japan and the other in Vietnam. Each beer is made with the same recipe, but a different yeast strain: Far Yeast Brewing uses Belgian Ardennes yeast, and Heart of Darkness’ uses German Ale yeast. Using three kinds of hops, Amarillo, Mosaic and Citra, the beer has an emphasized fragrance of passion fruit.

Far Yeast Brewing has collaborated with several overseas breweries so far, but ‘Saigon Passion’ is the first launched collaboration beer brewed at their own Genryu Brewery in Yamanashi.

“It’s always fun to work with other brewers and breweries because we share a passion and commitment to the craft and the end product. We share very similar problems, as well as the same joys. It is a welcoming brotherhood worldwide and this was especially true of the team at Far Yeast Brewery. Not only were we welcomed into the brewery but we also felt welcome in the little mountain village where Far Yeast is located.

Working with other breweries is also an educational experience. Even though the process is very similar all the way from home brewers to big international breweries, every craft brewer has slightly different methods, and every brewery’s equipment is slightly different. At Far Yeast I learned something new within 10 minutes of walking through the door.

Of course, in our profession, meetings always involve tasting beer, and a highlight of our visit was to try some of Far Yeast and Kagua’s stunning beers at the actual brewery.

The Japanese market was very interesting to experience first-hand. Personally, I was a little surprised how well established and widespread craft beer is in Japan. More so than I was expecting it to be. At the same time, I get the feeling that the Japanese market is ready for something a little different. We have been told that fruit beers are popular in Japan. We hope that by using luscious Vietnamese passion fruit juice with both Far Yeast’s signature Belgian yeast and Heart of Darkness’ twist on the beer that we can offer something exciting for Craft drinkers in Japan. We are also looking forward to introducing a range of Heart of Darkness beers to Japan and we can’t wait to work with Far Yeast again. Kanpai!!!”

A directly managed taproom “Far Yeast Tokyo ~Craft Beer & Bao” opens on 20th July

We are pleased to announce that Far Yeast Tokyo opens in Shibuya Tokyo very soon. It is company’s first taproom equipped with 12 taps. It offers a range of Far Yeast’s beers including its regular lines like Kagua and some limited edition beers.
The bar’s speciality is Bao, a Chinese style burger that has recently been becoming popular in cities like London, New York and Hong Kong.
