The beer fits and looks great in the Japanese food scene.
Japanese Scented Ale
To pursue Japaneseness’s fragrance, KAGUA beer uses Japanese herbs such as Sansho pepper and Yuzu as brewing spices, rare in the world. It is a Japanese ale with the concept of a fragrance that is brightly colored on a Japanese table.
Art design of KAGUA
The KAGUA logo, like a traditional Japanese family crest, is a symbol of our commitment to the quality of the product. The logo is so simple that it does not interfere with any table scene. And KAGUA is the perfect foil to the refined cuisine that should be the main dining table. Yet, KAGUA’s bottle and label design have a dignified personality, and it is a reflection of our commitment to quality.

Facts
Ingredients
Kagua offers a special aromatic experience due to the blend of Japanese herbs such as yuzu and sansho. These ingredients are rarely used in beer production.

To ensure that we deliver the finest aroma, we procure the yuzu and sansho directly from top quality producers who have exceptional reputations.
Yeast is essential for brewing and determines much of the quality of the finished product. We have chosen premium yeasts, which are used by only a few of the finest beers in the world. This has provided KAGUA a characteristically rich and bold original taste.

Production
We considered multiple breweries all over the world as contract-brewing partners to commercialize KAGUA, relentlessly prototyping it again and again. During this process, we had the good fortune of connecting with an experienced Belgian brewer, capable of adhering to the KAGUA recipe while utilizing the brewery’s vast experience and knowledge. Through extensive tastings and discussions, and the brewer’s passion in taking on the KAGUA challenge, we became convinced he was the right man to be entrusted with brewing KAGUA.

In addition, an internationally renowned Belgian professor in beer, also known as “Professor Hop,” endorsed the KAGUA concept and promised to continue providing support together with the brewer.

Their hard work and passion were crucial in realizing KAGUA’s originality to the utmost extent and stabilizing its quality at the highest level.

Logistics Process
Since KAGUA is brewed to such rigorous standards with specially selected ingredients, our major challenge is to preserve its quality over the 10,000-kilometer journey from the brewery.
To uphold the highest levels of quality, we use only first-class logistics operators; the same operators that high-end wine distributers use.

We go to these extraordinary lengths in order to guarantee that each bottle of KAGUA reflects the true quality of production and the power of the brewer’s spirit.

Art Design
KAGUA’s art director is a young and energetic artist working in Japan and internationally. His main aim is to create a very simple and well-honed image, while also reflecting Japan’s gentle and meditative nature. Connecting to its guaranteed quality, KAGUA’s logo is inspired by a traditional seal, which Japanese have been using as signatures for centuries.

To showcase KAGUA in the global marketplace, he uses two traditional colors:“akane-iro” (Japanese madder, or deep red) and “gofun-iro” (Japanese ultra-light yellow).

The distinctive bottle and label design, showing simplicity and humbleness that complements any cuisine, is one of KAGUA’s most fundamental values.
