This barleywine is aged for 12 months in wine oak, then transferred to bourbon barrels for a further 9 months, and is blended with vanilla, coconut cream, and caramel, inspired by the famous Australian sweet, caramel slice.
■Taste: Vanilla, caramel, and coconut cream are added to enhance the caramel and vanilla flavors of the base beer, recreating the taste of caramel slices. The rich aroma and flavor of vanilla accentuates the sweetness, and the addition of caramel and coconut cream recreates the sweetness of caramel slices. The hot taste of the whiskey from the bourbon barrel and the berry flavor from the wine oak and malt are intricately intertwined, resulting in a sweet, but not too sweet, finish that you can sip slowly without getting bored of.
This is a collaboration with Two Fingers, a beer bar in Nishi-Ikebukuro.
