From the innovative spirits brand "Off Trail -Azeotrope" comes "Malt Gin Gently Peated," a refreshing aroma with powerful fragrance and botanicals, to be released on Tuesday, June 14th

Far Yeast Brewing will be releasing a limited edition of "Off Trail -Azeotrope Malt Gin Gently Peated" on Tuesday , June 14, 2022 , from its brand " Off Trail -Azeotrope " (hereinafter "Azeotrope"), which challenges itself to create innovative distilled spirits. This experimental spirit is positioned as a crossover between whiskey and gin.

■ Using peat-based wash (mash), we challenged ourselves to create a new style of gin

This latest release is a variation of the " Malt Gin New Pot Blended ," which won a silver medal at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC) 2021. This experimental product combines malt spirits, the raw material for whiskey , with peat, a carbonized form of wildflowers and aquatic plants , to create a new style of gin . A wash mash specially brewed for distillation was carefully distilled twice in a pot still at Far Yeast Brewing's Genryu Brewery. The malt used is partially peat malt, lending a powerful, smoky aroma. The botanicals are relatively subdued, aiming to subtly bring out the malt flavor. Unlike London dry gin, this is a new type of gin, focused on flavor.

■A long, lingering finish with peat aromas and malt flavors.

The aroma is a refreshing balance of the smoky aroma of peat-derived whiskey and the sweet aroma of understated botanicals. The flavor also has a gentle malt sweetness, but also a strong fragrant aroma, and is characterized by a long, enjoyable finish. We recommend mixing it with carbonated water for a crisp, refreshing taste while still enjoying the aroma and lingering finish. It also pairs perfectly with outdoor BBQs and smoked dishes.
