"Far Yeast" won a silver medal at the International Beer Cup 2014

"Far Yeast" won a silver medal at the International Beer Cup 2014.

At the awards ceremony held at Yokohama Port Osanbashi Hall on Saturday, September 13th, the gold, silver, and bronze awards were announced for each beer style. Japanese craft beer brand Far Yeast won silver in the Freestyle Light Lager category for its Tokyo Blonde and silver in the French & Belgian Saison category for its Tokyo White.

The International Beer Cup has been held since 1996 and is the third oldest beer competition in the world. A judging panel consisting of international and domestic judges from around 17 countries conducts rigorous tastings to determine the winners of 105 styles in each of the bottled/canned and kegged beers, with gold, silver and bronze awards awarded to each style.

According to the organizers, this year 327 beer brands from 16 countries were entered, including many overseas craft beers, making it an extremely high-level competition.

Far Yeast evolves its flavor by adjusting its recipe with each brew, and this award will encourage them to continue evolving and aiming for even greater heights.

[About "Far Yeast" playing the music of Tokyo]

The company was founded in April 2014 with the concept of creating a beer that symbolizes Tokyo, based on the idea that "as a craft beer company based in Tokyo, we want to create a beer that can spread the appeal of Tokyo to the world, a city that we can be proud of." Based on the theme of "Tokyo," a vibrant city that blends tradition with cutting-edge technology and evolves every day, our beer is brewed at a domestic contract brewery using an original recipe (mixture) designed by our company. It offers two varieties: the pilsner-style "Tokyo Blonde" and the saison-style "Tokyo White." This is Japan Craft Beer Co., Ltd.'s second brand, following "Kagua." http://www.nipponcraftbeer.com/far-yeast
