Starting July 22, 2014, Nippon Craft Beer Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada) will be selling two limited edition original beers from Belgium's De Graal Brewery, brewer of the fragrant Japanese ale "KAGUA."
The two varieties being sold this time are "De Graal" Quest and "De Graal" Gember. Both are representative items of De Graal Brewery's original brand, "De Graal," and have rarely been available in Japan until now.
"De Graal" Quest
This authentic Belgian beer is "low in sugar and calories"*, the result of a quest. Developed with the desire to create a beer that even those who are concerned about their sugar intake can enjoy, this Belgian-style high-alcohol beer breaks down the sugar contained in the malt as much as possible. It is characterized by its mellow flavor and beautiful bronze color. It pairs perfectly with European cuisine, including French cuisine.
- Based on nutritional labeling standards. (Quest: Carbohydrates 1.3g/100g, Energy 8kcal/100g)
"De Graal" Gember
This blonde ale, a signature product of De Graal Brewery, is flavored with ginger. It has a refreshing ginger flavor, along with subtle hints of honey, pepper, and lime. It finishes dry and pleasant.
Both items will be available for sale at the Belgian beer festival, Brussels Beer Festival 2014, which will be held at Ikebukuro West Exit Park in Tokyo from Tuesday, July 29th to Sunday, August 3rd, 2014.
We are also planning to sell the product online. We will inform you as soon as it is confirmed.

About De Graal Brewery
De Graal Brewery is a new brewery founded in 2001 by brewer Dr. Wim Saeyens on the outskirts of Ghent, Belgium. Wim studied science at the University of Leuven and later earned a PhD in Pharmacy there, before pursuing a career as a chemist. However, his love of beer led him to start his own brewery and produce beer himself. As a chemist, his approach to beer-making is highly theoretical, but he is one of the most notable brewers, crafting unique and original beers with his own unique interpretation of traditional Belgian-style beers using secondary fermentation in the bottle.
