What is De Graal Quest?

"The starting point for development was the desire of brewer Dr. Wim to create a beer that could be enjoyed by people who need to limit their sugar intake or who are concerned about their sugar intake" (*1). With this in mind, we decided to develop a beer that completely breaks down the sugars contained in malt. The result of this quest is a beer with a final gravity of 0.99g/cm3 or less, which is lower than the specific gravity of water(*2). Despite this background, this beer has an excellent balance of flavors, making it popular among general beer fans. A Belgian-style high-alcohol beer, it features a well-balanced bouquet of rich flavors and a beautiful bronze color, making it an excellent match with French and other European cuisine. DeGraal prides itself on the fact that Quest, born from a quest, is a product of its own making, as symbolized by the label, which depicts the Queen holding aloft the Holy Grail (Graal), the name of the brewery. (*1) We do not recommend that people with any illness or symptoms of illness consume alcohol. (*2) The specific gravity of a simple compound of water and ethanol with an alcohol content of 9% is 0.983 g/cm3, which is close to the specific gravity of Quest. Therefore, theoretically, it can be inferred that Quest has a low residual sugar content. Furthermore, according to the Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines, the final gravity of a Belgian Tripel style beer with an alcohol content of 7-10%, similar to Quest, is defined as 1.016-1.024 g/cm3, which means that the final ratio is smaller than that of a beer of the same style and alcohol content.
