Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® First Product! Limited Edition Brew "Far Yeast Right Step" Released March 12th (Tue)
Far Yeast Brewing will be participating in Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® for the first time , and will be brewing a limited edition product called “Far Yeast Right Step,” which will go on sale from Tuesday, March 12th.
■ Toasting to the spirit of acceptance beyond gender with craft beer
In 2024, we will be taking part in Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® for the first time.
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day is an initiative started by the American Pink Boots Society to brew beer around March 8th every year to coincide with International Women's Day, designated by the United Nations, with the aim of raising awareness of the role of women in the beer industry.
Since our founding, we have held "diversity and inclusion" as an important value. Just as diversifying beer contributes to the enhancement of beer culture, we believe that diversifying team composition and working styles will also contribute to the development of our brewery.
We decided to take on this challenge with the hope that by incorporating these values into our beer, those who purchase it will become aware of women and non-binary individuals in the craft beer community and understand the importance of creating an environment in which all people involved in the community can demonstrate their talents without being bound by gender.
A gorgeous and spicy Rye IPA that expresses feminine strength
This project was led by the Far Yeast Brewing Women's Team. The team consisted of two female brewers: Ellen, who came to Japan from Taiwan on a working holiday last July and joined FYB, and Alessia, who came to Japan from Italy last November as a guest brewer. The team also included a diverse team of female staff from various professions who were involved in everything from planning to brewing.
Hoping to break down gender stereotypes, the style chosen was a powerful Rye IPA made with YAKIMA CHIEF HOPS®'s "Pink Boots Blend 2023," a blend created specifically for Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® . The slight spiciness from the rye and the vibrant tropical flavors of five hops— Ahtanum, El Dorado, HBC 638, Idaho 7 from the Pink Boots Blend, and the earthy aroma of Sabro—evoke the image of a glamorous yet powerful woman.
This product embodies our determination to take the right step towards raising awareness of women and non-binary people in craft beer brewing through this project. The gorgeous label design was created by Naoko Kamiyama, an illustrator based in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture. The design incorporates motifs of mimosa, rye, and hops, which are symbols of International Women's Day, as well as flowers associated with the countries of origin of the members involved in this project: Italy, Taiwan, and Japan.
Far Yeast Right Step will be available in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, March 12th. Shipments to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide will begin on Thursday, March 21st, and shipments of products purchased on the official web store will begin on Wednesday, March 27th.
In addition, a portion of the sales from this product will be donated to the Pink Boots Society.
*Donations will be used to fund scholarships that support, inspire, and encourage professional development and education for women and non-binary people.
