■ Pursuing a rich, heavy imperial stout
Off Trail is a brand that is challenging new possibilities for craft beer, and they use microorganisms other than beer yeast to create unique beers with rich and complex flavors using a barrel-aging method that involves aging the beer in wooden barrels.The finished product changes depending on the barrel and the environment in which it is aged, so no two beers are exactly alike, making for a unique, one-of-a-kind flavor.
The newly released "Off Trail BETRAYAL" is an imperial stout aiming for a rich, heavy flavor. After about four months of trial and error , they arrived at a method of using an extra-long boil to achieve an extra-high specific gravity. They mashed it twice and carried out the longest boiling in Far Yeast Brewing's history, lasting eight hours. The base beer, which has a powerful body, was then aged in bourbon barrels for approximately eight months. The aging time further enhances the beer's richness, resulting in a highly satisfying finish that strongly reflects the aging barrels.
■ A bitter taste that vividly betrays the impression of the sweet chocolate aroma
Contrary to the sweet and gentle aroma of chocolate, caramel, and vanilla, the taste is very bitter. It is smooth to drink, yet heavy with a high alcohol content. This new product, which completely betrays your first impression, has been named "BETRAYAL."
The jet-black, extra-rich imperial stout, "Off Trail BETRAYAL," will be available in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, January 30th. Purchases made on the official web store will be shipped sequentially from Wednesday, January 31st to beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide .
