The beer "Far Yeast TAPECUT 12th Anniversary DDH IPA," brewed to commemorate the brewery's 12th anniversary, will be available for limited sale from Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
■ A culmination of 12 years of challenging history
Far Yeast Brewing will celebrate its 12th anniversary on Thursday, September 7, 2023. A major turning point in our 12-year history was the long-awaited establishment of our own brewery in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture.
The newly brewed 12th anniversary beer, "Far Yeast TAPECUT 12th Anniversary DDH IPA," is a revival of "Tapecut Imperial IPA," the first beer released in 2017 at our own brewery, Genryu Brewery. This is the third edition, following the 10th anniversary beer, "Tapecut 2 DDH IPA."
While returning to its roots, we aimed to create a beer that reflects the progress Far Yeast Brewing has made as it continues to take on new challenges by incorporating the latest theories and advanced brewing techniques.
■ "TAPECUT" has evolved further to be hop-forward based on the latest hop theory
This brew is based on the theme of "hop-forward," and hop varieties were selected based on the "survivables theory," which focuses on aroma compounds that survive the brewing process. To commemorate the brewery's sixth anniversary, six types of hops, primarily used in Far Yeast Brewing's standard beers - Citra, Mosaic, Cryo POP, Cascade, Columbus, and Idaho Seven - were used, introduced at multiple times to allow for a multi-layered hop flavor experience. The hop flavor has been further emphasized than in the previous two brews.
" Far Yeast TAPECUT 12th Anniversary DDH IPA " will be available in limited quantities on the Far Yeast Brewing official web store from 12:00 on Tuesday, September 5th, and will be available at beer bars, restaurants, and liquor stores nationwide from Friday, September 6th, and for purchase on the web store from Friday, September 8th.
