The "Far Yeast" brand enters Thailand for the first time! Two collaborations with "Beervana" will be released in Thailand and Japan. "YUZU Sour Ale" and "ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner" will be available in Japan from Tuesday, May 9th.
Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. has collaborated with Thailand's largest craft beer distributor, Beervana, to release two products, "YUZU Sour Ale" and "ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner," which will be the first Far Yeast brand products to be released in Thailand, and will be available in Japan and Thailand. In Japan, the products will be available exclusively online and at directly managed stores from Tuesday, May 9, 2023.
■Towards the growing Thai craft beer scene
Craft beer is becoming increasingly popular in Thailand. The government's strict alcohol production regulations have made it difficult for small breweries to enter the market, but legal reforms in November 2022 are easing the regulations, and brewpubs are opening one after another.
Beervana is Thailand's largest distributor of carefully selected craft beers, importing and selling them from around the world. They signed a sales partnership with Far Yeast Brewing in 2013 and are responsible for importing and consigning sales of "KAGUA" in Thailand.
This latest release is a collaboration with Beervana's brewing division, The Brewing Project. Furthermore, "YUZU Sour Ale" is a collaboration between three companies, with the participation of Thai brewery Samata.
This is the first time that Far Yeast brand products will be sold in Thailand.
Far Yeast Brewing hopes to continue delivering unique beers to the Thai craft beer market, which is expected to continue to expand.
■A refreshing product to drink on a hot summer day
For this collaboration, the Beervana team visited Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, to exchange ideas and brew together. The result is a refreshing beer perfect for the hot summers of Thailand and Japan.
"YUZU Sour Ale" is an easy-to-drink, lightly salted sour ale made with yuzu from Kochi Prefecture. Using the kettle souring technique, yuzu is added both in the kettle and in the tank. The use of hops is kept to a minimum to highlight the yuzu aroma, and you can enjoy its exquisite acidity and refreshing taste.
"ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner" is a pilsner aged in sandalwood, cypress, and cedar wood chips grown in the forests surrounding Kosuge Village. The wood used is from the "Kosuge Tsukuruza" group, which is committed to crafting products using local wood. It is a clean, easy-to-drink lager with a subtle woody aroma.
" YUZU Sour Ale " and "ARAN Wood Aged Pilsner" will be available in Thailand from June, and in Japan they will be sold exclusively at the Far Yeast Brewing online store and directly managed stores. Orders will begin to be accepted on the online store from 12:00 on Tuesday, May 9th, with shipments starting on Wednesday, May 17th.
