Far Yeast Brewing will be releasing a limited edition Off Trail Bramble Scramble from its innovative beer brand , Off Trail, on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

"Off Trail" was launched in 2019 as the third brand following "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast." By using the barrel aging method, which involves aging beer in wooden barrels, they utilize microorganisms other than beer yeast to create unique beers with rich and complex flavors.

This latest release is particularly unique among the Off Trail series. The Haskap Brett IPA, a fruit sour IPL made with haskap berries, was released in March 2022 and aged in wooden barrels. Blending it with fruity strong ale barrels for further aging, the result was a wilder flavor than the brewers had anticipated. Therefore, they changed their initial plan and created a barrel-aged fluted bullet beer that takes advantage of the wild, funky flavor.

The appeal of "Off Trail" lies in its irreproducibility, with flavors changing depending on the barrels in which it is aged and subtle differences in the environment, making it impossible to create two identical beers. For brewers, the real thrill lies in accepting the sometimes uncontrollable self-expression of microorganisms, maximizing their potential, and bringing together their unique characteristics into a single product. This latest release is a product that clearly displays the essence of "Off Trail."

Named "Bramble Scramble" after the taste of discovering bramble (blackberry) shrubs in a sprawling forest, this wine is filled with funky aromas of cherry pie, green grass, blackcurrant, and leather, wild berry and barrel tannins, and earthy flavors like forest soil. The gentle sweetness and acidity of haskap adds to this unique yet approachable flavor.

" Off Trail Bramble Scramble" will go on general release on Saturday, December 3rd, with pre-sales starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29th on our official online store.

[What is Off Trail?]

Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer.
