"Beer Distilled Gin Sansho Punch Aged with Oak" is a craft gin with a complex flavor created by steeping oak chips in Sansho Punch, a revitalized Ross beer. It will be released on Saturday, November 19th.

Far Yeast Brewing will be releasing a limited edition product from its brand "Off Trail - Azeotrope" (hereinafter "Azeotrope"), which is challenging itself with innovative distilled spirits brewing, called "Off Trail - Azeotrope Beer Distilled Gin Sansho Punch Aged with Oak," on Saturday, November 19, 2022.The product is a craft gin made from imported beer that was lost due to the COVID - 19 pandemic, called "Sansho Punch, " which has been soaked in oak chips .

"Off Trail - Azeotrope" is a crossover brand of beer and distilled spirits that utilizes the know-how of fermentation and barrel aging (wooden barrel aging) cultivated through beer brewing to take on the challenge of creating innovative spirits and liqueurs.

In July 2022, we launched " Off Trail - Azeotrope Beer Distilled Gin Sansho Punch New Pot" (hereinafter "Sansho Punch") , our second beer distilled gin, made from upcycled Ross beer . We collected imported beer from our partner liquor store that was approaching its expiration date and unable to be sold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and carefully distilled it twice in a pot still in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. Using Wakayama Prefecture-grown grape sansho as the main ingredient, we added a variety of botanicals, including juniper berries, coriander, yuzu, and elderflower, to create a refreshingly flavorful craft gin.

For this latest release, we've also infused oak chips into Sansho Punch. The vibrant flavor of sansho pepper is combined with the rich, woody flavor of American oak, creating a mellow flavor reminiscent of vanilla and maple, resulting in a layered, complex flavor. The aftertaste is reminiscent of sansho pepper, as well as refreshing citrus notes like lemon and lime. This craft gin is perfect to enjoy slowly, savoring its mellow aroma, either straight or on the rocks.

" Off Trail -Azeotrope Beer Distilled Gin Sansho Punch Aged with Oak " will be available for general sale from Saturday, November 19th, and pre-orders will begin on the official online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8th.

[Off Trail – What is Azeotrope?]

Launched in October 2021, this craft spirits brand crosses the boundaries between beer and distilled spirits. As a spin-off of "Off Trail," a cutting-edge beer brewing project that utilizes microbial barrel aging techniques, the brand is exploring innovative spirits and liqueurs. Focusing on genever-style spirits, which are malt-derived distilled spirits aged in barrels, the brand aims to bring a breath of fresh air to the distilled spirits world by leveraging the fermentation and barrel aging know-how cultivated through beer brewing. "Azeotrope" refers to the phenomenon of two liquids with different boiling points boiling together while maintaining their composition when mixed in a certain ratio, creating an azeotropic mixture. The name evokes the symbiosis of beer and spirits, our core businesses.
