Far Yeast Brewing will release "Off Trail-Azeotrope Lager Korn Kagua Distilled" on Friday, August 19th, 2022, from its brand "Off Trail-Azeotrope," which is challenging itself with innovative distilled spirits brewing. The new drink uses "KAGUA, a Japanese-scented ale," which was lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

■ Off Trail – Azeotrope is a crossover brand of beer and distilled spirits that upcycles rosé beer into distilled spirits , leveraging the know-how of fermentation and barrel aging (aging in wooden barrels) cultivated through beer brewing to create innovative spirits and liqueurs.

The newly released "Lager Korn Kagua Distilled" is a distilled spirit that is an upcycled version of our regular beer "KAGUA," which uses yuzu and sansho pepper. "Lager Korn" refers to a distilled spirit made from aged grain.

"KAGUA," a Belgian restaurant with over 100 years of history, was lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was carefully distilled twice in a pot still at Braeckman Distillery, then aged for 20 months in red wine French oak barrels at Far Yeast Brewing in Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture.

■ Complex aromas and flavors brought about by wooden barrel aging, including yuzu, vanilla, and wine notes <br>While retaining the aromas and flavors of the original malt, esters, and yuzu, aging adds sweet notes like vanilla and ripe wine notes, resulting in a distilled spirit with a complex character. It has a soft pink color similar to rosé wine and can be enjoyed straight, twice, or with sparkling water.

"Off Trail-Azeotrope Lager Korn Kagua Distilled" will be available for general sale from Friday, August 19th, and on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 16th.
