The dark side of dry-hopped sour!? The mysterious flavor will pique your curiosity. "Off Trail Nightmare Fuel" will be released on Sunday, July 31st.

Far Yeast Brewing will release the dry-hopped sour porter "Off Trail Nightmare Fuel" from its innovative beer brand "Off Trail" on Sunday, July 31, 2022, with pre-sales starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 26 on its official online store.

"Off Trail Hops and Dreams," released in August 2021, is a dry-hopped sour beer that received the highest ratings from beer fans on the beer review site Untappd among the products released in the "Off Trail" series last year. In April 2022, we released "Off Trail Recurring Dreams," a self-homage to "Off Trail Hops and Dreams," using different hops and a different base beer.

The newly released "Off Trail Nightmare Fuel" is a new homage series to "Hops and Dreams," and is a dry-hopped version of the same barrel-aged sour beer.
The theme for this year's brew is "The Dark Side of Dry-Hopped Sours." We've blended five unique kettle sour spiced porters, and dry-hopped them to further enhance the character of the base beer, resulting in a powerful flavor profile.
One of the attractions of barrel-aged beer, which makes use of microorganisms, is that it is impossible to predict what the taste will be until it is completed, and the fact that it can never be reproduced exactly the same twice is a "once in a lifetime" taste. This new release, which fully embodies the essence of "Off Trail," has been named "Nightmare Fuel," likening the thrill of not knowing where you'll be taken, a mixture of fear and fun, to a nightmare.

Dry-hopping with fragrant American hops "Idaho 7" adds fruity berry flavor to the base beer, which has complex aromas from barrel aging. Flavors of blueberry, bitter orange peel, and tropical fruit are complemented by malty, chocolate, and woody nuances, creating a mysterious drink that reveals different faces with each sip.

[What is Off Trail?]

Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer. Its name comes from the image of forging ahead on unpaved roads, setting itself apart from well-paved roads. The beer is brewed using the barrel-aging method, whereby beer is aged in barrels previously used for wine, sake, and whiskey, in order to develop rich and complex aromas by utilizing microorganisms other than brewer's yeast. The brand explores unique flavors by blending seasonal fruits such as grapes and peaches, as well as regional specialties, to match the characteristics of the base beer.
