"Off Trail-Azeotrope Malt Gin New Pot Blended" won the Silver Award at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2022
The results of the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2022 were announced on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, with Far Yeast Brewing's Off Trail-Azeotrope Malt Gin New Pot Blended winning the Silver Award in the Western Spirits category (Category: Gin/Japanese).
About the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition (TWSC)
A competition for distilled alcoholic beverages such as whiskey, spirits, and shochu that began in 2019.
Planned and run by the Whisky Culture Research Institute, this is one of the largest competitions in Asia and the only one of its kind in Japan, with over 300 experts on Western liquor and shochu from around the country judging the winners through blind tastings.
This is the fourth time the competition has been held, and entries began to be accepted in the fall of 2021. A total of 241 judges conducted the judging remotely from February to May 2022.

Off Trail - Azeotrope Malt Gin New Pot Blended
This blend combines a base gin made from malt liquor specially brewed for distillery purposes, distilled twice in our own pot stills, with spirits distilled from our regular beer "KAGUA," made with Japanese pepper and yuzu. The botanicals include juniper berries, coriander, Nelson Sauvin hops, and plenty of yuzu. The blend ratio achieves the perfect balance between the flavors of the malt and botanicals. Unlike London Dry Gin, this spirit focuses on flavor, allowing you to enjoy the malt flavor of the ingredients.
