Far Yeast Brewing collaborates with Granny Smith, a specialty apple pie shop! The NIGHT WATCH PROJECT #9 Apple Pie Hazy IPA, which tastes like a drinking apple pie, will be released on February 1st (Tuesday) for a limited time only.

Far Yeast Brewing will be collaborating with Granny Smith Apple Pie & Coffee (hereinafter referred to as Granny Smith), an apple pie specialty store run by Fungo Inc., to produce the ninth installment of the "NIGHT WATCH PROJECT." The limited-edition "NIGHT WATCH PROJECT #9 Apple Pie Hazy IPA" (hereinafter referred to as Apple Pie Hazy IPA) will be released on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

The "NIGHT WATCH PROJECT" is a project launched at the end of 2019 by a group of craft beer-loving professionals from various fields, including brewers, fashion, graphic designers, and architectural designers.

This ninth in the series is a pastry beer *1 created in collaboration with Granny Smith, a specialty apple pie store, and is inspired by "drinkable apple pie."
Based on the Milkshake IPA *2 , which is popular among craft beer fans , this new release contains the largest amount of lactose ever in the history of the NIGHT WATCH PROJECT. It also contains a generous 121.5kg of concentrated apple juice, resulting in a rich, sweet and sour taste.
The tropical-scented kveik yeast is used to create a fruity flavor, the malt content creates a pie-crust texture, and fruit juice and cinnamon create an apple pie flavor. We aimed to recreate the deliciousness of Granny Smith apple pie, with its crispy pie filled with large apples.

*1 Pastry beer:
Pastry refers to bread and confectionery in English, and is a general term for beer that has a rich, sweet taste like sweets.
*2 Milkshake IPA:
This IPA-based beer is made with lactose added, and has the bitterness of an IPA, plus a sweet taste, and a creamy mouthfeel with aromas of tropical fruit and vanilla.

"NIGHT WATCH PROJECT #9 Apple Pie Hazy IPA" will be available nationwide from Tuesday, February 1st. Pre-orders will begin on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18th (shipments will begin sequentially from Friday, January 28th). Granny Smith stores with cafes ( Aoyama, Yokohama, Ginza, Nishinomiya, Futako Tamagawa, and CIAL Yokohama ) will also begin serving it at their cafes from Tuesday, February 1st.

The store's name is a combination of the green apple variety "Granny Smith" and "Granny Smith," which means "Grandma Smith."
