International Strong Beer Category Class 2 - Ale (abv range 7% - 9.9%) : Bronze Award
『KAGUA Rouge』
It was first sold at Far Yeast Brewing's founding as an ale that would look great on a Japanese dining table.
The award-winning "KAGUA Rouge" is a Belgian strong dark ale that uses plenty of roasted malt and Japanese pepper, giving it a rich, full-bodied flavor.
The aroma of spicy sansho pepper and fragrant malt, the malt flavor and hop bitterness are all well-balanced, yet the refreshing aftertaste makes it a perfect match for well-seasoned Japanese cuisine.

[What is KAGUA?]
The original recipe (mixture) was conceived based on the concept of "a fragrant aroma that will complement a Japanese dining table," and is brewed at a contract brewery in Belgium by our partner, using yuzu and sansho pepper, two Japanese herbs that are rare around the world and symbolize Japan.
There are three varieties in the lineup: "Blanc," which uses wheat and has a gorgeous ester aroma and a fresh yuzu scent; "Rouge," which uses roasted malt and has a spicy Japanese pepper aroma and a fragrant malt scent; and "Saison," which has a fresh, fruity aroma.A major feature of these beers is that they can be enjoyed by pairing them with food, just like wine.
Our products are sold in famous and popular restaurants that have been awarded stars in the Michelin Guide, as well as luxury hotels and restaurants overseas.
