Notice of Third-Party Allocation of New Shares to SKY-AZ Alcohol and Food Revitalization Fund and Other Underwriters
Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture; Representative Director: Yamada Shiro), a craft beer maker that distributes original Japanese beers around the world, is pleased to announce that it raised approximately 200 million yen through a third-party allotment of new shares on November 30, 2021, with SKY-AZ Alcohol and Food Revitalization Investment Limited Partnership No. 1 (GP: SKY Group Investment Co., Ltd., Aozora Corporate Investment Co., Ltd.) and SKY Group Investment Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hariya Yuji) as underwriters.
Strengthening management structure and brewing facilities to achieve further growth
With the mission of "Democratizing beer," we have produced unique craft beers centered around our three core brands, "KAGUA," "Far Yeast," and "Off Trail," and sold them domestically and in 25 countries, growing alongside the spread of diverse craft beer culture.
The craft beer market is currently expanding globally. In Japan, competition is intensifying due to an explosive increase in new entrants, while in the United States and Europe, the market expansion has led to the expansion of craft breweries, modernization of facilities, dramatic improvements in the quality of packaged beer (canned beer), and notable improvements in management capabilities.
We also feel the need to strengthen our management capabilities in order to reduce the price of packaged beer and improve the quality, and plan to use the funds raised this time for capital investment to expand the capacity of our current Genryu Brewery and improve quality. In addition, in order to make further progress in the future, we plan to complete construction of a new factory in 2023 by raising additional funds through loans, etc.
With this funding, we will create high synergy by combining the knowledge and networks of our underwriters and their group companies. We have already started a "freshly brewed craft beer delivery" service with Kakuyasu Co., Ltd. , a member of the SKY Group , to deliver our standard product "Far Yeast Hop Frontier -Juicy IPA-" to customers within five days of completion, and we plan to continue to collaborate in the future.
