Far Yeast Brewing opens its first overseas store in Taiwan. To commemorate the opening, the company is collaborating with Taiwan's "UGLY HALF BEER" to release "Far Yeast Lychee Haze," made with Taiwanese lychee, on Thursday, September 30th.

Far Yeast Brewing will be grand opening its first overseas directly operated store, "Far Yeast Taiwan Craftbeer Gastropub" (Taiwan name: 源流台灣精釀啤酒餐酒館), in Taipei, Taiwan on Saturday, October 16th.
To commemorate this, we have collaborated with Taiwanese brewery UGLY HALF BEER to brew a Fruited Hazy IPA called "Far Yeast Lychee Haze" using Taiwanese lychees. The beer will be released in Japan on Thursday, September 30th, ahead of its release in Taiwan.

■Opened the first overseas directly managed store in Taipei, Taiwan

"Far Yeast Taiwan Craftbeer Gastropub" will be the fourth directly operated store, following stores in Gotanda, Tokyo, Atami, Shizuoka, and Fukuoka, and will be the first overseas store.

Taiwan ranked third * in the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan in 2019 , and Japanese culture and food are attracting a lot of interest. Furthermore, in recent years, the number of stylish beer pubs and beer restaurants where you can enjoy craft beer has increased in Taipei, and awareness of craft beer is also on the rise.

As of September 2021, we sell our own brand beer in 25 countries around the world, and began selling it in Taiwan in 2014. Our core brands, KAGUA and Far Yeast, are now popular and sold in many Japanese restaurants and craft beer specialty stores.

Our directly managed store, "Far Yeast Taiwan Craftbeer Gastropub," has 15 taps and offers not only our core brands, but also carefully selected Japanese craft beers that can only be found here in Taiwan. This gastropub offers a modern Japanese-inspired dining experience. Located in the East District, home to many foreign residents and business people, we expect to attract a diverse international clientele. At a time when overseas travel is difficult, we will continue to promote the diverse flavors of Japanese craft beer and the richness of Japanese food culture through our directly managed store.

■ Fruit Hazy IPA made with Taiwanese lychees

To commemorate the opening of our Taiwan directly managed store , we collaborated with the emerging Taiwanese brewery "UGLY HALF BEER" to brew "Far Yeast Lychee Haze" using Taiwanese lychees.

Nelson Sauvin hops, with their white grape-like aroma, and Sabro hops, with their tropical notes of citrus and coconut, complement the gentle, sweet flavor of lychee juice, transporting the drinker to the streets of Taipei.

Meanwhile, UGLY HALF BEER Toriki Beer is brewing a Fruited Hazy IPA using Japanese yuzu. This is a mutual collaboration that uses fruits from each country, matching the beer style and hops used. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented travel between the two breweries across borders, the two breweries held multiple meetings online and via email to develop the recipe. Both beers will be available at their directly managed store in Taiwan.

Far Yeast Lychee Haze will be released to the general public in Japan on Thursday, September 30th, and pre-orders will begin on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 21st (shipments will begin sequentially from Friday, September 24th). It is scheduled to be released in Taiwan from late October.
