"NIGHT WATCH PROJECT" 4th installment: Dessert-inspired hazy IPA returns! "Strawberry Milkshake IPA" and "Pudding Hazy IPA" will be released simultaneously on Thursday, July 29th
Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture; CEO: Shiro Yamada), a craft beer maker that distributes original Japanese beers to the world, will release ``Strawberry Milkshake IPA'' and ``Pudding Hazy IPA'' to the general public on Thursday, July 29th as the fourth installment of its ``NIGHT WATCH PROJECT. ''
The "NIGHT WATCH PROJECT" is a project launched at the end of 2019 by a group of craft beer-loving professionals from various fields, including brewers, fashion, graphic designers, and architectural designers.
Following the second releases, "Hotcake Hazy IPA" and "Marron Milk Shake IPA," and the third release, " Peach Milk Parfait ," the fourth release will also see the simultaneous release of two new "Hazy IPA*1" beers that are almost like dessert.
*1 What is Hazy IPA?
This style is defined as "Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale" in the American Brewers Association's Beer Style Guidelines. As the name suggests, it focuses on bringing out the "juicy flavor" of hops and is characterized by its cloudy appearance.
Although it's a new beer style defined in 2018, it's popular among craft beer enthusiasts and is currently one of the most talked-about styles. It's also sometimes called New England IPA (NEIPA) or Milkshake IPA.
The base beer is made primarily from three citrus hops: Cascade, Citra, and Comet, and for the first time, French Barbruge hops, known for their strawberry aroma, are used for the dry hopping, bringing out the full fruity aroma and flavor.
We also add lactose to give it a thick, milkshake-like mouthfeel, resulting in two unique hazy IPAs.
■ 『Strawberry Milkshake IPA』
Since the base beer has plenty of strawberry aroma from the hops, we kept the flavoring to a minimum to aim for a natural strawberry taste.
It also contains hibiscus, which gives it a pink color and a floral scent.
This Milk Shake IPA has a lovely strawberry aroma and flavor, just like the label design.
■ Pudding Hazy IPA
A hazy IPA with a dessert feel inspired by the "pastry beer*2" that is currently popular in the United States.
Contrary to the sweet pudding-like aroma that excites you even before you drink it, the flavor is reminiscent of burnt caramel with a subtle bitterness, and it goes down smoothly without being cloying.

Pastry refers to bread and confectionery in English, and is a general term for beer that has a rich, sweet taste like sweets.
"Strawberry Milkshake IPA" and "Pudding Hazy IPA" will be available nationwide from Thursday, July 29th, and pre-orders will begin on our online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 6th (shipments will begin sequentially from Friday, July 16th).
