The fifth installment of the collaboration beer series with Fukuoka BEERSONIC, "Far Yeast WESTBOUND 5th India Pale Lager," will be released in limited quantities from Friday, June 18th.
Far Yeast WESTBOUND 5th India Pale Lager will be available from Friday, June 18th as the fifth installment in the WESTBOUND series, a collaboration beer with BEERSONIC, a specialty craft beer shop in Fukuoka.
We are also collaborating with BEERSONIC, an indie liquor store in Fukuoka that connects craft beer with various cultures, at our Fukuoka directly managed store BEERHOLIC, which opened last year.
The "WESTBOUND" series of collaborative beers, in which Far Yeast and our company have teamed up, has so far brewed four limited edition beers: "Far Yeast WESTBOUND SESSION IPA" and "Far Yeast WESTBOUND Session IPA 2nd" in 2018, "Far Yeast WESTBOUND 3rd Brut IPA" in 2019, and "Far Yeast WESTBOUND 4th India Pale Lager" in January 2021.

The fifth in the series, "Far Yeast WESTBOUND 5th India Pale Lager," is a re-brew of "WESTBOUND 4th India Pale Lager," the first lager-style beer brewed in-house and released to great acclaim in January 2021.
We use five types of hops, including Nelson Sauvin and Lemon Drop, which have been used throughout the WESTBOUND series, and place emphasis on cleanliness and drinkability rather than flashy hops.
At 4.8%, it is slightly lower than typical lager styles, and has a refreshing citrus flavor and a crisp, drinkable taste.It can be enjoyed not only as a beer on its own but also as an accompaniment to meals, making it suitable for a wide range of occasions.
The can design is a completely original creation by Toyameg , a Fukuoka-based company that spreads a pop worldview and has a track record of collaborating with domestic artists and brands .
Far Yeast WESTBOUND 5th India Pale Lager will be available at liquor stores and restaurants nationwide from Friday, June 18th. Advance orders will be accepted on the online store from 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 25th, with shipments scheduled to begin on Friday, June 11th.

Since April 2017, with the theme of "Let the hops shine," the group has been planning and holding events at various locations, mainly in Fukuoka City, including cafes, galleries, apparel shops, and even public baths, based in a room in their home, which has been approved for liquor sales.
In April 2018, they opened a new 13-story store in Takasago, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, featuring "Far Yeast WESTBOUND Session IPA," complete with a standing bar.
In May 2020, Far Yeast Brewing opened a liquor store inside BEERHOLIC, its third directly managed store in Japan, near Ohori Park in Chuo Ward, Fukuoka City. The store not only sells craft beer but also offers suggestions for a quality lifestyle with beer.
