Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. has collaborated with global hop supplier YAKIMA Chief Hops® ( headquarters : Washington State, USA; CEO: Ryan Hopkins ) to release American Noble Citra IPA and American Noble Mosaic IPA on Saturday, February 20th, with pre-orders starting at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 11th on the official online store.
Since 2019, Far Yeast Brewing has participated in Yakima Chief Hops' hop selection events, visiting hop harvesting and processing sites, attending various seminars, and selecting and purchasing hops to deepen its interactions with hop growers and suppliers. Meanwhile, Yakima Chief Hops is actively promoting initiatives to develop beers using new hop varieties and hop processing products in collaboration with leading breweries around the world, verifying the hop flavors in actual beers and obtaining useful feedback.
Yakima Chief Hops approached us about collaborating on a beer using American Noble Hops ™, one of their innovative products that is still rarely used in Japan. After extensive discussions, we decided to release a traditional American IPA that takes advantage of the characteristics of this hop. American Noble Hops ™ is designed to impart the fruity, tropical flavors characteristic of hops grown in the Pacific Northwest, such as Cascade, Citra®, Mosaic®, and Simcoe®, while reducing the impact of the high alpha acid bitterness. It also brings out the mild, refreshing aromas and flavors of traditional European noble hops*.
This time, we have created a powerful American IPA that also has a traditional flavor, making it an elegant, refreshing, and aromatic beer.

*What are noble hops?
These are traditional hops that have been used in beer brewing in Europe for a long time. They have a clean bitterness and a refreshing aroma. There are restrictions on the names of hops depending on the components they contain, and the four types known as noble hops are Saaz, Palatz Mittelfluh, Spalter, and Tettnanger.
