"KRIEK IN THE FLESH," a cherry sour ale in collaboration with Portland brewery "Culmination Brewing," is back! Available from Monday, June 8th.
Far Yeast Brewing has re-brewed "KRIEK IN THE FLESH," a collaboration beer with Culmination Brewing, a brewery in Portland, Oregon, USA, which was released in 2018, and will be releasing it in limited quantities from Monday, June 8th.
For this new brewing, the recipe has been slightly adjusted, resulting in a finished product that allows you to enjoy clearer acidity and fruitiness.
"KRIEK IN THE FLESH" is a fruit sour fermented using the kettle souring method * with the addition of tart cherry juice.
*Kettle souring is a method of making sour ale by lactic acid fermenting the wort in a boiling kettle before the main fermentation to give the beer a sour taste.
It has a vibrant ruby color and a fruity aroma with the acidity of American cherries. It has almost no sweetness and a dry aftertaste.

Additionally, in 2019, "KRIEK IN THE BARREL," a barrel-aged version of "KRIEK IN THE FLESH," won a bronze medal in the Wood/Barrel-Aged Beer category at the Asia Beer Championship. This beer sold out immediately due to its limited production, but this time, it has begun aging in wine barrels in excellent condition. Please look forward to "KRIEK IN THE BARREL," which is scheduled for release in a few months to a year.
