Craft beer maker Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada) will launch the COVID-19 support project "Cheers to Support" in collaboration with the international NGO AAR Japan (Association for Aid and Relief, Japan) (Location: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Chairperson: Yukie Cho) on Monday, June 1st. We will be selling "support sets" of craft beer through our online shop, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to AAR Japan to help prevent the spread of infection in developing countries and support welfare facilities for people with disabilities in Japan. As the global pandemic continues, we hope to expand the circle of "toasting" to show compassion and encouragement to each other.
Since April, when the COVID-19 pandemic began in earnest, Far Yeast Brewing has been providing and delivering free boxed lunches to the Pediatrics Department at Keio University Hospital in order to support medical workers fighting on the front lines. To date, 840 boxed lunches have been delivered (as of May 27th), and the initiative is scheduled to continue until the end of May. Many people have also purchased "support sets" of craft beer to support the initiative, allowing us to deliver your warm support to medical professionals.
Although the number of infections in Japan has begun to decrease, the situation remains unpredictable, and there is still no end in sight to the global outbreak. In light of this, we have decided to launch a new initiative, "Cheers to Support," in collaboration with the international NGO AAR Japan, from Monday, June 1st, to support refugee camps overseas and facilities for people with disabilities in Japan. We will deliver necessary support to those vulnerable to being left behind by society and facing concerns about the spread of infection.
Far Yeast Brewing's craft beer has been enjoyed by many people both in Japan and overseas, and we are embarking on this project with the hope of overcoming this global crisis together with people both at home and abroad .
As part of the "Cheers to Support" initiative, Far Yeast Brewing will sell "support sets" of craft beer on its online shop, and a portion of the sales will be used to support refugees and people with disabilities through AAR Japan.

■Cheers to Support Refugees
In densely populated places such as refugee camps where sanitary conditions are poor, even a single infected person can lead to a rapid spread of infection. AAR is conducting awareness-raising activities to prevent infection in camps for refugees from Myanmar who have fled to Bangladesh, as well as in countries with weak medical systems such as Pakistan. By supporting these activities, we are able to protect people from COVID-19 and prevent the spread of infection.
