Craft beer maker Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo / CEO: Shiro Yamada) began providing and delivering free lunches to Keio University Hospital (Location: Shinjuku, Tokyo) on Tuesday, April 21st to support medical workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As the spread of COVID-19 continues, medical facilities on the front lines are supported by the dedicated efforts of medical professionals who are working day and night. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the medical professionals who are fighting with all their might to protect people's lives in harsh environments where the risk of infection is constantly close at hand, and we would like to support them in any way we can as a company.
Our company operates a directly managed bar, "Far Yeast Tokyo Craft Beer & Bao," in Shibuya, but is currently temporarily closed due to the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, during the closure, we have decided to use the store's kitchen and chefs to prepare delicious, nutritionally balanced bento boxes and deliver them directly to medical workers.
The bento lunches began being provided to Keio University Hospital on Tuesday, April 21st. As our company has employees who are graduates of Keio University, we have had a long-standing connection with the university, having previously set up a stall at the alumni event "Keio Rengo Mita Kai Taikai." This time, we proposed this to a pediatrician at the hospital through an acquaintance, who gladly accepted our offer and we will now be providing the bento lunches.
We have also launched a support website called "Clap for Carers - Healthcare Worker Support Project" to solicit support from those who support our activities. We will be selling "Clap for Carers Support Sets" that include craft beer and glasses, and will donate a portion of the sales to our support activities.
Far Yeast Brewing hopes that the circle of support for medical workers will expand and that people will come together in solidarity and cooperation to overcome this crisis as soon as possible.
