限定醸造「Far Yeast Peach Weiß」を発売

Limited edition brew "Far Yeast Peach Weiß" released

Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada) will be releasing a limited edition collaboration beer with Yatsugatake Brewery (Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture) called "Far Yeast Peach Weiß" from its craft beer brand "Far Yeast" on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

"Far Yeast Peach Weiß" is based on the recipe of Yatsugatake Brewery's standard product, "Weiß," and uses peaches from " Peach Senka Yamashita" (Headquarters: Yamanashi City, Yamanashi Prefecture; CEO: Kazuhiro Yamashita), the peach farmer behind the popular Yamanashi City cafe "Peach Farm Cafe La Pesca," which also served as the brewer for our limited-edition brews, "Far Yeast Peach Citrus Gose" (released January 2018) and "Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler" (released March 2018). Peach Senka Yamashita's peaches are grown using "special farming methods" that harness the power of nature to maximize the fruit's natural flavor. 500kg of peaches harvested and frozen in 2018 were pureed in a food processor and used in this beer.

"It was such a difficult task that I never want to brew again, but it created a sense of unity and a sense of accomplishment I've never felt before. The peach aroma and Weiss yeast are well balanced, and I think it has a dry, great finish. It feels like the characteristics of both breweries are packed into it. As expected."

"Our collaboration with Yatsugatake Brewery coincided with the 100th brewing at Far Yeast Brewing Genryu Brewery, making it a memorable brewing. As it's a collaboration between two breweries in Yamanashi Prefecture, we wanted to make a beer using a lot of peaches! That was great until we realized that processing 500kg of whole peaches was quite a challenge, so we got the Yatsugatake team and even the journalists who came to cover the event involved in processing the peaches, and somehow we managed to get the brewing done. This Peach Weiss is packed with a ton of peaches and everyone's thoughts. It's such a difficult brewing job, so this may be the last one (laughs)."

This product marks the second collaboration between our company and Yatsugatake Brewery. The first was in October 2018, when we brewed "Tropical Lager" at Yatsugatake Brewery, combining Yatsugatake Brewery's specialty German-style lager with our specialty dry hopping technique.

The upcoming release of "Far Yeast Peach Weiß" will be available in two varieties: keg and bottle. The keg will be pre-opened at the "Far Yeast Peach Weiß Release Commemorative Event - TOUCH DOWN & FAR YEAST Double Tap Takeover in YAMANASHI" to be held at Four Hearts Cafe (Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture) on Thursday, November 22nd. Both the keg and bottle will then be available nationwide from Wednesday, November 28th.
Additionally, on Friday, November 30th, Far Yeast Brewing's directly managed store, Far Yeast Tokyo Craft Beer & Bao, will be holding the "Far Yeast Peach Weiß Release Celebration Event - TOUCH DOWN & FAR YEAST Double Tap Takeover in TOKYO."

We will continue to introduce new items such as limited edition brews, and aim to provide products that will please many people in a variety of everyday situations.

[About Yatsugatake Brewery]

The brewery was established in 1997. Created by Kazumi Yamada, who previously served as head of brewing development for "Ichiban Shibori" and "Heartland," this beer is "a beer that will move the drinker." It is characterized by a refreshing German style, using meltwater from the Yatsugatake Mountains as the brewing water.

[About Yatsugatake Brewery Brewing Manager, Matsuoka Kazuto]

Born in Fuchu, Hiroshima Prefecture on October 8th, 1983. After graduating from the Department of Brewing at Tokyo University of Agriculture, he joined Moegi no Mura Co., Ltd. in 2008, where he remains to this day.
