Far Yeast Brewing releases the fourth collaboration beer between Genryu Brewery and an overseas brewery: the limited-edition "Far Yeast Extra Brut IPA."

Starting Tuesday, November 13, 2018, we will be releasing the limited edition Far Yeast Extra Brut IPA .

Far Yeast Extra Brut IPA is a collaboration between Hong Kong's up-and-coming brewery, Gweilo Beer (hereafter referred to as Gweilo), and Far Yeast Brewing. This Brut IPA* boasts a gorgeous aroma of white grapes and tropical hops, and an incredibly dry finish.
This product uses a generous amount of five aroma hops, including Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin, and is characterized by its gorgeous aroma, which is created by the complex intertwining of the hops.

*Brut IPA is an IPA with a dry, hoppy taste. It is not as bitter as the tropical-flavored American IPA. Because of its characteristic dry flavor, it was named "Brut," a term used to describe the sweetness of champagne and sparkling wine. The first Brut IPA to be sold commercially is said to be "Kim Sturdavant," made by "Social Kitchen and Brewery" in San Francisco, USA.

This product marks the second collaboration between our company and Gweilo. The first was in August 2018, when Gweilo brewed "Yuzu Hazy IPA," which uses the same yuzu from Umaji Village, Kochi Prefecture, that is used in the "KAGUA" series. The beer was unveiled in Japan at the Mikkeller Beer Celebration Tokyo, held from September 23rd (Sun) to 24th (Mon, national holiday), and is now available nationwide in both kegs and bottles.

The new release, "Far Yeast Extra Brut IPA," will be available in both kegs and bottles. Pre-sales will begin on Thursday, November 8th at Maruho Liquor Store Kujo Main Branch (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) and Maruho Liquor Store Namba SKYO Branch (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture). Both kegs and bottles will then be available nationwide from Tuesday, November 13th.

We will continue to introduce new items such as limited edition brews, and aim to provide products that will please many people in a variety of everyday situations.

An up-and-coming brewery in Hong Kong. Founded in 2014 by home brewers Ian and Emily, and avid craft beer geek Joseph, they initially started producing beer through contract brewing without their own brewery. In 2018, they welcomed former Modern Times head brewer Matt Walsh to open their own brewery in Hong Kong's Fu Tan district.
