Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Shiro Yamada) will release the third edition of Far Yeast Tokyo IPA, a limited edition brew of its Tokyo-themed craft beer brand, Far Yeast, on Friday, April 22, 2016.
The third edition of "Far Yeast Tokyo IPA" is a limited-edition beer that was made possible in response to requests for a re-release of the second edition of "Far Yeast Tokyo IPA," which was released in July of last year as a limited brew and sold out to great acclaim. As with the previous edition, it expresses Far Yeast's commitment to "high-quality Tokyo-esque aroma" using Belgian yeast and primarily Citra and Cascade hops. The alcohol content is 5% and the IBU* is 57. The result is a crisp beer with a gorgeous aroma that is easy to drink.
*IBU: International Bitterness Units. A measure of bitterness. A typical pilsner has an IBU of 20-30.
This product will be available in two varieties: barrel and bottle. Orders can be made on the official store page from Thursday, April 14th.

(Reference) What is IPA?
IPA: An abbreviation for India Pale Ale. This beer style is said to have originated during the Age of Discovery, when large amounts of hops, a preservative, were added to beer to prevent spoilage when it was transported from England to India. It is characterized by a strong bitterness, a high body (alcohol content), and a satisfying taste. This style is popular among craft beer enthusiasts, especially in the United States, which leads the global craft beer market.
<About "Far Yeast">
Established in April 2014, Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd. launched this brand with the aim of creating a beer that would convey the appeal of Tokyo, a city renowned around the world. This is Far Yeast Brewing Co., Ltd.'s second brand, following on from Kagua.
Based on the theme of "Tokyo," a city that evolves every day while blending tradition and cutting-edge technology, the beer is brewed at a domestic contract brewery using an original recipe. Three types are available: the lager-style "Tokyo Blonde," the saison-style "Tokyo White," and the lager-style "Tokyo Blonde-Export," an export version.
